Yup. You nailed it. EPIC. Seen the Soldier Field Chicago IL Sep 3 ‘22…..I…was…BLOWN. This was small compared to there pyrotechnics now. You can feel the heat in the stadium …..AMAZING. I live and work in Key West FL. ….try Sonne or Engel or Weisses Fleich. Those are songs. So many.

In German, Du Hast Mich (you have me, I'm yours) and Du Hasst Mich (you hate me) are homophones, they sound the same but are not written the same. A woman says to her man I'm yours (Du Hast Mich), will you marry me? But he says nothing. She quote the marriage vows, will you stay with her for better and for worse, until the end of times? But he answers no! Now she hates him (Du Hasst Mich, with two S).

Generally you want to watch Rammstein's live performances. Deutschland, Zeit, Mein Land, Angst, Adieu, and the piano version of Mein Herz Brennt are fantastic videos though. Their texts also have many- many layers. Till is probably the latest iteration of the great German poets, ao it is best to understand German or watch on Buckstabu or Educated Marine's channel as both make good subtitles. Knowing the lyrics adds content. Beware that it is often very- very dark. You are adorable.

Thats all about the wedding ceremony in church: "will you be faithful for all days until death will divorce you..........." I´m not sure if you know this christian ceremony, some think it´s something to do with "hating" because of "du hast" (you have) and du hasst" (you hate) is the same pronounciation in Germany. But thats not true. The answer of this question "will you...." ist usually a "yes, I will" and Rammstein says "yes (quiet) and "NO" loud. Oh, German here, Bavarian 74 years old, like u 👍🙋‍♂

The lyrics of this song in a nutshell: The first three words are "Du hast mich" (you have me) which at that moment doesn't make any sense in German. But it sounds (intentionally) the same as "Du hasst mich" (you hate me). Later in the song, the first three words are extended to a full sentence: "Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt." (You asked me and I did not answer.) And then, to show what he was asked, the chorus is a wedding vow: "Willst Du bis der Tod euch scheidet treu ihr sein für alle Tage?" "Du Hast" means "You Have" 'Hast' when it's spelled with 1 S means 'Have' but when spelled with 2 SS 'Hasst' means "Hate" when you hear both words they sound alike but the spelling is different and the translation is also different. Don't let the double meaning confuse you... I don't understand why people say it can have double meaning(in the song) when it's clearly spelled with only 1 S so in the context of the song its "Du Hast"(You Have) not "Du Hasst"(You Hate) I'm pretty sure if Rammstein wanted to, they would have added something like "Du has(s)t" to indicate the double meaning of have and hate. Another thing is if you decide to look up translations, be careful when you do because the English version is not the same as the englisch translation. @@grandparentsreact German here. To be clear... All allegations made against the singer were investigated by the authorities. In Germany, people look very closely at such misconduct. At the end of the story, nothing remained of the allegations but hot air. No evidence of criminal activity was discovered and the matter was closed. By the way, this was a matter of allegations that were made a good year ago and, as already mentioned, have long since been cleared up. This shows once again how long such crap can last in the world...
