I’m a 74 year old Aussie,I’ve had Johns music in my life for more than fifty years.John sings everything from Rock to Opera,He’s known as The Voice in Australia. He’s loved and respected like no other.John interacts with his Audience like no other. He’s performed with many Artists Around the world including many Americans who have come out here. When John Lennon heard Johns rendition,he was reported as saying that’s the way they wanted it performed. Thanks for the great reaction,I promise you if you continue reacting to JF you won’t be disappointed. What you Just Witnessed is John giving one hundred percent as he does in every performance. That song was Johns first or second encore.

You've got 6 decades of experience to investigate. He is an ICON in the Australian Music Industry. John Farnham started in 1967 and was still performing into his 70s until Covid shut the country down. He won "King of Pop" 5 consecutive years 69 -73, then faded a bit in the late 70s (due to poor management). John is the only Australian artist to have a number-one record (album or single) in five consecutive decades. He has received the admiration of many international artists, such as Richard Marx, Celine Dion, Robbie Williams, Tom Jones, Freddie Mercury. Brian May, Sammy Davis Jnr, Ray Charles, just to name a few. I'll drop a few links to give you a taste and warn you if you start reacting to John, the Aussie Army will flood your channel. LOL if you decide to go exploring, make sure you only watch "Live" performances, he loves his fans and millions of us love him back. He is the most down to earth person, humble, funny and extremely talented. John is one of the most versatile vocalists you can find, he can sing just about any genre. He replaced Glen Sherrock as frontman for LRB for a time in the early eighties. Welcome to the world of John Farnham. He is a legend in Australia. He has been in the top of our charts for over 50 years. He started as a teen idol back in 1967 and he's been wowing us ever since. He was king of Pop in Aus for 5 consecutive years from '69 and into the 70's. In the early to mid 80's he was the lead singer of the Little River Band. And from 86 till today he has been an adult contempory artist who can literally sing any genre and belong right there. From Hard Rock, to Pop Rock, Pop, Country, R&B, Jazz, Soul, Comedy, Musical Theatre, even Opera. He sings the sweetest ballads and nails Rock like you wouldn't beleive. He was still singing in his 70's with as much power and in the same key as he did in his 30's and 40's. Check out his most famous song YOU'RE THE VOICE Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra PLEASE DON'T ASK ME a duet with his beautiful freind, Olivia Newton John WHEN SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY BABY, duet with another one of his great freinds Jimmy Barnes. His Awesome cover of ACDC'S IT'S A LONG WAY TO THE TOP. That's a few good ones to get you started. Once you start reacting to JF the Aussies will turn up in droves as we all love him so much ❤❤❤

As Aussie here from John Farnham's home city of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. John is the GOAT in Australia and world-wide. He has a huge, gymnastic vocal range, singing in over 20 genres with a l-o-n-g career of six decades and many top hits and top albums. He is an extremely charismatic and consummate showman. Never look away from his performance as you'll miss something. He is very well-loved in Australia, not just for his music but also for his humble, happy, sincere personality. John gives to charity through his concerts. He especially gives to his audiences because when he sings his Soul shines out in loving joy to us. John sings many songs of messages for the greater good in/for the world. You would love to see and hear John and his brilliant singers and band members' cover of Stevie Wonder's song, 'Love's In Need', done in a capella style, live in concert. ALWAYS choose live performances of John in concert as his energy is extraordinary !

This version is John's own arrangement which came about from him working out how to play the original on piano. John released it on an album in 1980, it's been around a long time in Australia, we're definitely used to both versions. Tina Turner heard it and did this version live herself.

One of a kind, unique, the greatest - a celestial being sharing the love. The gift of music; young or old, rich or poor - it has no boundaries. This rendition follows a full concert and ends John's 2nd encore. It's a different interpretation but the two Johns had the same message - help me when I'm feeling down, help me get my feet back on the ground. It's not rocket science; help and care for each other - that's love. Love you John, we're with you the whole damn way in this valley of tears. Who said life is easy!!

It's a well known fact that John Lennon actually said he preferred John Farnham's version to the Beatles'. He said when he wrote the song it was a cry for help and he really didn't like the up beat "preppy" way the Beatles were made to record it. If you really listen to the words, they're pretty sad. I saw a documentary on John Lennon where he sang a slow version of Help just with the piano. He was in his New York apartment, not long before he died. RIP John Lennon.❤

The Beatles wrote it and released Help. John fixed it and John Lennon said so. Once you start to react to John Aussies just appear. He is humble, kind and sweet. He is our Legend and known as the Voice. Anything John sings is amazing but it has to be live. He can sing everything including Opera. John taught me that backup singers and every person who works with him has a name and are all equally important. Over the years everyone on that stage has become his and our family, including his real family. He has had many American, British and more famous artists come to sing and work with him. I don’t think he ever knew he is famous and you will find him giving his time at every charity concert or Carols By Candlelight on Christmas Eve. John is a really good person. Thank you.

Once you start going down the rabbit hole you can't stop. John has performed with many well known people (Tom Jones, Olivia Newton John and Celine Dion just to name a few). John and Olivia were friends for 50 years. John was very upset he couldn't go to her funeral as he was dealing with his own health issue (cancer) at the time. We all know deep down he will never perform on stage again, but we hope. John is best served LIVE. You have no orders how amazing John's voice is. He is adored here in Australia and is known as "The Voice". When he wrote his version of Help he had permission from John Lennon to do so. Lennon also told our John that the way John sang it is was the way he wanted it. But the producers stopped him. He can sing anything from hard rock to the most beautiful ballads. Hear him sing with the late Olivia Newton John and you will hear perfection. They have been best friends forever. He is 75 now and has just beaten cancer of the jaw. He has successfully gone through Chemo and recently attended his sons' wedding. Please look to more John Farnham videos. He was best friends with Olivia Newton John and was devastated by her passing. A great song to react to is "Please Don't Ask", he does a duet performance with Australia's Olivia Newton John from The Main Event Concert; he also does a cover of a 1966 Sam and Dave song When Something is Wrong With My Baby, with Australian rocker Jimmy Barnes from the 1991 ARIA(Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards.

I was there. This was probably 91, 92 or so. This was the second encore of a two and a half hour show. Thirty years later it's still the most memorable performance I've seen. This concert was advertised as John and his Big Band in typical Aussie understatement, it's a 100+ piece orchestra for crying out loud. lol This song is one of the last songs that he would sing at the end of the night after he had already sung his heart out for nearly 3 hours. Some have pointed out that this particular recording of the concert was closer to 2 hours of actual singing during the TV special, but it was also on the 4th or 5th night that he had sung like this. Either way, it was one of multiple nights that he did this on January 4-10, 1989, so his voice is still worthy of the accolades. Not many other singers can belt like that for even 2 or 3 nights without a rest. And besides picking at the exact details or this exact performance, Farnsey also has a way of getting deep into the emotions of your soul. A couple of songs worth checking have been mentioned below, plus these are worth a look also. The reason you haven't heard of him is because the US music industry is a closed little club. When John Farnham went to the US they didn't know which genre to put him in so his US promotions manager got him a couple of gigs in a little jazz club, where the MC introduced him as Jack Phantom. Couldn't even be bothered getting his name correct, so being a bit disheartened he wandered home to concentrate on his loyal fan base. The experience did give him inspiration to write a couple of good songs about missing his family, like this one. -Burn For You.. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZoSE2LGhgNbWdaQ.html -Angels.. Notice how he holds the mike below his chest, both mikes are a metre away, which he does all the time to not drown out the other singers. JF with Lisa Edwards, a top singer in her own right, and one of John's back up singers for 20+ years. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z5NmsKyLeceof5s.html -Amazing Grace.. To show the calibre of his other back up Singers, showing you have to be good in your own right, just like Lisa. This is Vanetta Fields and Lindsey Field. kzread.info/dash/bejne/kaxqsJttf6jRirQ.html -Please Don't Ask Me.. This one with Olivia Newton John, who we have recently lost. John has also had major cancer surgery including removal of part of his jaw and we may not hear him sing again. So let's enjoy this one as well.. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZKmKwdaTf6fMe5s.html -When Something Is Wrong With My Baby.... And even when he is singing with one of the most powerful voices on the planet, Jimmy Barnes, he still put the mike away from his face and closer to Jonny Diesel on guitar. kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4mTxKWcmKe9dpc.html Or this version. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hHWgqKqMgK-uoNI.html -When The War Is Over… Possibly one of his greatest vocals. kzread.info/dash/bejne/npqL1LqcZci0aMo.html -Or is the greatest. Gethsemane.. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nWmr0a-TpKbSmKw.html -How about a mike test. He has the power and ability to distort microphones, amps, and get speaker stacks jumping. So this sort of setting up the venue test is a must. Lol Black Dog. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eGaNy5iNhsyTo7g.html Besides having the best voice ever, JF can adjust his tone, pitch, volume, to match the person he is singing with to either match them or sing just under them depending on who's the head line act, he will even back himself down when he is the head line to give others their moment to shine, and if my ears were sensitive enough, I wouldn't be surprised if he could vary his vibrato, timbre and all of those other things that voices can do so he could accentuate the other singers.

This version of Help was released just months before John Lennon was murdered. He got to hear it and stated that this was actually close to how he would have performed the song..... but the Beatles managers and other people made them do the fast version to fit the movie. John Farnham is a British born Australian singer, who started his career in 1968 as a teen pop idol known then as Johnny Farnham; in 1980, John first performed his version of The Beatles classic song Help at a Royal Variety Performance in front of Queen Elizabeth. When John Lennon was sent a copy of Farnham's version, he stated "that is how the song was meant to be sung"; although he apparently played John's version on his piano at his home, but he never recorded it due to his death later that year. This performance with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, is the best; this was an encore after a two plus hour concert, his hit You're The Voice from this concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra also as an encore. Welcome to one of Australia's top adult entertainers.

If you think about it, The Beatles version of this was way too upbeat for the theme of the song… a cry for help. In fact, John Lennon said this was more like what he had in mind for the song.

I just went back and looked at our video, and I do see a couple of times when it appeared that way. At one point, I was checking the app on my phone the controls the camera we use to record ourselves (trying to make sure we had pleanty of battery to finish the reaction video), and then later I was looking at the computer on my lap that controls the video we are watching and reacting to. None of that hindered me listening to the song, but we always welcome constructive criticism. If you watch more of our videos, you can probably find more mistakes - LOL.

John is absolute Australian music royalty. He is THE voice second to none. He made this song his own and even John Lennon himself said he preferred this version it’s how it was intended but producers put a pop twist on it. Sadly I found your reaction of our number one superstar John very underwhelming.

The Beatles version made no sense it is a song about being depressed and needing and asking for help. The original made a mockery of depression. Until this version i didn't listen to this song.
