I lived in Vietnam for two years (Hanoi), and the BEST Vietnamese soup, in my humble opinion, is bún chả; it's what I craved the most after moving back to the U.S. and one of the first things I ate again when I went back on vacation last summer. It's a northern speciality and hard to find elsewhere, but I highly recommend it! Bún bò Huế is another amazing Vietnamese beef soup. Sort of like bún chả, it's a regional speciality, as it specifically originated in the city of Huế, which is in central Vietnam.

So traditionally you don’t mix all your accoutrement into the soup. The herbs and veggies go in and your sauces go in a little dish. Then you dip a slice of beef in the sauces and put it in your mouth, then quickly follow it up with the noodle soup, thennnn chew and swallow everything together. Palate cleanse with the onions in vinegar. Viets eat differently because we build the perfect bite INSIDE our mouths instead of in the bowl or spoon.

Ill always go for a bowl of Pho over ramen any damn day. Ramen is just too heavy tasting in a way that Pho isnt. Not to mention its the only one that incorporates heavy fresh veggies to eat.

21:51 It's nem nuong. A grilled, caseless pork sausage. My Vietnamese American wife makes this. It's delicious. The fattiness of the nem nuong makes it sweet, similar to some Italian sausages my grandma used to make. It's not supposed to taste like ham. Ham is more salt-forward.

I haven't seen a Try Guys video in a while, so why not watch Keith, Zach, and YB eat noodle soups? Out of the three soups, I like pho the best. Pho has that distinct flavor and charm that earns the title the Asian soul food. Thank the Fung Bros for coming up with that title, not me. 10:55: _"Keith used Flamethrower! It's super effective!"_ We still remember when you pulled that Charizard card, Keith.

@@thatgirl9532 lanzo is basically just the place where this noodle originated from. Also the Japanese word Ramen actually comes from Chinese LaMian, where in China Lanzhou Noodle is often referred as LanZhou Lamian, so it is pretty much the OG of Japanese ramen.

@SupaSmartCellistGirl a lot of chinese foods are named after the cities. So I think it is lanzhou noodles. Similar to peking duck/beijing duck. You wouldn't just call it roast duck, it's specifically beijing duck.

@@thatgirl9532 No, Ramen basically just refers to the type of noodles that is hand stretched (what La means in La Mian). There are tons of different type of ramen in China (way more than in Japan), but what differentiates them the most are the broth and topping, and I won't call them the same dish because of it.

That's a fair analysis about Eat the Menu and potentially encouraging people to get out of the comfort zone and try something new. If I'm going to a non hibachi Japanese place and not getting sushi and gyoza, I'm getting the pork katsudon EVERY time. Granted, it's awesome. I love how at my local go-to for katsudon the juice/flavors/seasoning seeps down into the white rice; makes it so much more yummy.
