Hi everyone, I wish to address some comments regarding that I did not plug out the battery first, it is highly recommended to do so and I wish to apologize as I may have forgotten on this part. However in this video I did not plug out the battery myself and manage to do the upgrade without any problems. My laptop is still working fine as of today (2 years later). Not different brand but different density of RAM. If you could, get dual x8 density RAM to get the best performance. Else, if your RAM is running dual channel that's also enough for me.

I don't suggest that, both slots needs to have same capacity and speed in order to achieve dual channel.

Hi, M.2 2280 NVME SSD will work. Its total capacity is 4TB so you can add max 2 TB on each slot. Victus runs hot while gaming in triple A titles else on eSports titles it works fine (will do a vid on this). Thanks for your support!

Any reputable brand with warranty will do! make sure to get the 3200mhz(same speed) and same size RAM

@@babyyoda3143 the ideal scenario is putting two +16 rams of the same model (even better if the 32 gbs comes in the same package) but 8+16 works great for games and work, since the bios will pair the same frecuency for both memories. u will be ok just putting 16 gbs, if u can put both memories new, I will be even bettter.

This shouldn't be related to you inserting the RAM, probably you need to update the firmware of your laptop, just proceed to update and it should be fine

In this video, it is 2RX4 + 1RX8. No issues so far, download HWINFO to view the RAM specs or, in some RAM sticks it shows on the sticker

Just make sure you power off it will do. For me I did not remove the battery, you could remove it just to be sure 😄

Yes you can!

They should make all laptops that have a built-in internal battery that they would AT LEAST use latches that open quickly so the bottom is removed.

Yeah the New RAM its x16. Couldn't find a decent value x8 RAM and that time...nevertheless it's still running dual channel and i guess i could live with the slightly lower performance.

Hi, speaking from experience I've upgraded it myself as per video and even called HP for touchpad issue warranty service no issue here. Just do not tear out any warranty sticker on the stock ram etc.

Mine came stock with 16gb of DDR4, in 2 8GB sticks. There’s two slots, and it’s upgradable to 32GB of DDR4 so you hypothetically could do 2 sticks if you chose to

you can check it by pressing f1 / f2 while starting the system up and selecting the option for component details / component tests.. That will show you the Brand of Ram, its max speed, and the no. of slots its occupied. hope this helps

Yes but if you put one 16GB+8GB then it won't run dual channel. You will have to match both same in order to run dual channel, to get better performance

😏👍 very cool bruh, im picking this up cause its cheap af and thats really stupid and stingy of them not to put this out there in dual channel, you gotta have it in dual channel equal paired sticks for the cpu to perform at its best in video games, and ryzen cpus perform worse than intel cpus in single channel, so yeah this is a must, thanks for showing the exact ram stick because some say not just any stick is going to work with ryzen, its a little picky, thanks again, God Speed 😇🙏

If you do that, your laptop will cap at 2933mhz, so I would suggest either just buy a 2933mhz RAM or buy 2 3200mhz RAM stick and sell the 2933 stick

Yes that is correct. The computer will only be able to cap at the lower speed, that's why I suggest to try to get and match the speed of your stock ram

I would say best practice is to remove the battery and discharge yourself. But yeah I didn't remove the battery in this vid and the ram still works fine.

hey man, i have a 2x4gb HP victus. So I can buy 2 RAM sticks of an 8gb or 16gb and install right? And yes my max capacity is 33.54gb. Does the brand matter? My current RAM is a DDR4 3200. Hi, get 2x8GBRam at 3200mhz same speed to run dual channel. Dual channel is better than 1xRam at 16GB. It will still work tho. No need to go to BIOS 😄. Hope it helps

I would say the most basic and important is RAM frequency and capacity. To get best performance just match both RAM to 3200mhz . Ram timing seems to be able to tweak in system, but I don't suggest to do it

If i use a ram with different mhz for example the sodimm 2400 mhz would it still work, or it will have problems with the computer?

Usually you will have a sticker on the ram stick itself behind. Or you may download hwinfo and there you should be able to find it.

I'm debating on upgrading my DDR5 16gb Victus to 32gb. I'm wondering, is it really worth the need and cost ??? It does have 512 gb but that I will upgrade to 2 TB 980 pro. Your opinion on the RAM - is it that necessary to push to 32gb ? Because I know it'll eat the battery up FAST.

From what I know 16gb is already enough. Even for playing games, using ps, or 3d modelling. Is there a reason why you wanna upgrade to 32gb?

@@beomsungg - I want NO hiccups. I understand in my BIG RIGS - they always have 32gb min up to 64gb. Like 1 of my rings is 13700k 64gb 6000 with 30 cass. Now with my laptops, I don't mind more kick. I may just do this - take out 1 stick of ram and go from 16gb total to 24gb (by adding a 16gb piece) = I did already put in the 980 2tb pro. I do at times do video conversion and sometimes wanna play some games ?

DId you brake any tabs?
