Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today I had the opportunity to meet up with Micah a fellow overlander and walk around his beautiful Ram 2500 Overland Build. It's obvious he has put a lot of hard working into this build and I'm excited to share it with you today.

    so you want to look ridiculous in a 10,600 weight truck with a goofy 8 foot bed for overlanding? Buy a half ton or jeep gladiator

    Randy Ellis rock sliders mount above your Amp steps. All others are not compatible. Beautiful truck!

    I’ll be a solid disagree on this… the ONLY real rock slider is a true frame mounted slider. IMHO throw away those ridiculous amp steps and get a real slider meant for hard trail use. I use White Knuckle Off-Road Products sliders and they are incredibly tough. The Randy Ellis body protection is just that, it’s not a genuine slider because it offers no underbody slide protection. You’d be in a world of hurt if you set your truck on a rock and tried to pivot off with those RE’s, plus they mount to the body… huge red flags and should have a disclaimer “not a real use slider, just for looks”.

    (1) get a spray-in bed liner or you'll rust out the bed quickly, (2) might as well bought a Mercedes Sprinter van and have it customized through a vendor than drive this massive HD around. Otherwise, half ton or jeep gladiator would have better or off road popup camper trailer

  • @WolfPacOutdoors

    @WolfPacOutdoors

    I’ll disagree and here’s why. 1) a sprinter van isn’t built to do hard wheeling. 2) this massive truck has plenty of aftermarket parts built for tough wheeling and has excellent payload capacity which he needed.

    Not a common issue with the joints on the awning. They are designed to break under heavy wind to keep the wind from breaking the rest of the awning off.

    The owner of this truck loves that bumper, how are you liking yours? This is something I didn’t notice until editing but it looks like the eyelets on the front bumper would face massive sheer pressures because of the angle they are mounted. Have you winched or recovered off those yet? Besides that the bumper looks dialed...

  • @bobsters1

    Yeah these bumpers are really cool man. The recovery points as Austin said are not my favorite design but the designer swears by them. I’ve used my winch but haven’t used the eyelets yet.

    Your right about it being tough to fit on the smallest trails... it comes down to answering; what type of trails do you expect to encounter most, and what type of driving do you want to do. For the location I live and the trails we run our Tundra is the perfect size. For instance the stock width of a Jeep Wrangler is 74" and the Ram 2500 is 80", so it really comes down to length which will determine turning radius and the "feel" of the Jeep being substantially narrower on a trail because it's much shorter and maneuvers around obstacles better. What did you end up going with after getting rid of your Ram?

    I mean I’ve fit this thing through everywhere jeeps go so far🤷🏻‍♂️😂 it’s not perfect and short would be nice but it’s stupid practical for my life and work lol.

    @@WolfPacOutdoors yeah that’s true I loved the ram 2500 but I ruined the paint and axels. A lot of trails in Colorado aren’t truck friendly haha. Also I ended up with a ram rebel it’s still a truck but I love it I can still get in and out of places

    I really want the back tire but how do you feel about it blocking the rear camera

  • @WolfPacOutdoors

    @WolfPacOutdoors

    2 жыл бұрын

    From what Micah and I talked about behind the camera he's also not a fan of blocking the camera. There is a generic brand aftermarket kit to relocate the camera to the "eye" of wheel mounts. If it were my truck I would definitely get a rear spare carrier and just relocate the camera (especially running larger tires that wont fit in the OEM spare location).

    It’s painted man. I’ve known a dude who had his done in powder but it was a custom mix and yours will also because these colors are hard to match and they very a lot truck to truck. It’s held up well for the road and off-road miles I’ve put it though.
