Ralph Nader at IMF Protest, 4/16/00

Ralph Nader, the Green Party candidate in the 2000 presidential race, spoke at a rally to protest a meeting of the World Bank/International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C. on April 16, 2000. In this 13-minute speech, which aired on C-SPAN, he describes the relations of large, multinational corporations with corrupt governments and ruling elites around the globe and how the billions of dollars spent by the IMF in third world countries rarely reaches the poor inhabitants and instead fill the pockets of local oligarchs and dictators with some of it kicked back to the corporations. I was hoping this speech would help me recall the point of the protests, but Nader is long on generalities and short on specifics.
