I've bought Ralph Lauren for over 30 years and I can wholeheartedly confirm this. The quality has declined in many products and the prices have become ridiculous. It is no longer the same brand as it was even 10 years ago.

@johannabernstein4130 That probably explains why. Unfortunately it seems to have happened across many fashion houses now. The prices are truly out of context and they all seem to be jumping on making products 'as desirable as possible' by simply increasing the price e.g. Burberry. There used to be a time where you could pay extra for both style and quality whereas now it is becoming silly.

I just purchased a magazine two days ago because of the RL ad on the back of magazine. The colors are so vibrant. I support American designers. RL is my favorite designer, besides Kate Spade, Betsey Johnson and Dooney & Bourke.

Their signature Polo shirt is now feels cheap and flimsy. What a shame - in the 80's and 90s they were absolute gold.

RL is now more focused on the Purple Label brand more than ever just take a look at there designs they've never looked like they look very good not just custom suits and blazers and yes they are very expensive you must catch them on sale if you're trying to buy them if you're a budget shopper.

Purple Label rarely going on sale. Common sense would tell you in a time where people are broke, it’s best to make basic products people can afford.

@@MrBUGS713 Go check out Neiman Marcus they have Purple Label discounted to Almost 30% of regular price if that is in your price range and yes you're right I myself a economical shopper I highly supported Chaps Ralph Lauren but people didn't really buy it because they figured if you going to buy that you might as well just buy a polo RL brand shirt which I beg to differ because at one time chaps actually had great pieces that are actually just as good as polo brand but that's history also RL has had some financial troubles the last couple of years there business sense is think high instead of low That's just the way it is in business.

Please update your quality in clothing. Your sweaters are so thin now it’s crazy. I have sweaters from the 90’s and they’re thick and amazing quality!

You are so right it's downright shocking how his quality has declined over the years I have clothes that I bought now over 15 years ago that are strong and durable as ever and still look brand new I have modern Polo that looks great but as soon as you wash it's totally different and their sizing and fitting is so wonky now Don't know what has happened.

Ralph Lauren is simply one of the very best. The perfum Ralph Lauren Club is a wonder.

Did RL give ARS the RL clothes for the interview and if so, i hope he gets to keep them

no one buys to pass it down it just happens, it just last longer but u will get frays on the contact points. and its that last resort when it gets really cold cuz the materials are so thick its made for winter. only reason i get it. the brand is gettting played out they just need to think about quality in a different presentation cuz they seem to going with with the same color schemes like a harvard joc in the simpsons. it looks like a meme of its own

Ralph Lauren is an American success company and quality over junk is cheaper in the long run. The home line is the best

The quality is not bad but it has declined. I noticed their products in Japan are 100x better than North America specially in Canada where we don't even have access to a proper LR store. I bought a pair of sneakers from Farfetch and my left foot bleeded. 😢 really odd. They should open a cafe in Toronto, Canada. Make their women's wear more millennial friendly. Classy but not something like your grandma's. Their tops are so long. Make something for people who don't want crop but also don't want to look like their grandma. The men's products are very nice and more reasonably priced imo.

RL needs to wake up

Ralph Lauren polo shirts are £120-£150. Straight MAD, con artist. May as well buy a Moncler polo shirt for £200 no wonder you see so many teens going for genuine high desginer because brand like Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger are pricing themswelves out. Ralph Lauren Polo shirt second hand is £10-£20 Max, that is the truth lol

Ralph Lauren shirt definitely worth the price. I wear their shirts all the year. And they are still in good shape. Some other fashion brand shirt will lose color and the shape really quickly.

Higher priced items, but they’re not gravitating towards your high priced items. RL is more Uniqlo than Gucci.

Gucci ? Gucci is overpriced euro trash for coke heads and pedophiles ! Ralph is can be slightly over the top but also has many tastefully done classic standards which are much less expensive than European high fashion brands

It's not about impressing people or what other people think. It's about what you like and what makes you feel good. And in my case, with my favorite RL item, the Slim-Fit Oxford shirt, I have never tried another shirt that a) looks as good and especially b) nearly fits as good as these off the rack. In fact I have never owned a single other casual shirt brand in my life just because of the fit alone. And I also happened to get a ton of compliments for these shirts, everyone prefers a different color from my collection, but as I said that's not why I buy them. It's a nice side effect nonetheless.
