This is Deckarium, the second commercial game I'm making using the Godot game engine! It's a pixel art pet-simulator/deck-builder inspired by Insaniquarium, Slay the Spire, and Balatro. Namely that those last two games are the only games I ever played that had cards in them. I think I started doing this and then forgot about it for a while and then I played Balatro and I was like oh yeah true I was making a card game. So mostly Slay the Spire as the inspiration then. Although Balatro like, making the cards animated nicely made me want to animate mine also somewhat nicely. I slightly modified this one shader by Hei for that so if you want to do neat 2d perspective stuff you should look at that it's here:

Go play Chillquarium I guess right, the fish look cute in it. Fish are cool. Hooray.
Music by ‪@ardeosongs‬ thank you very cool
I should've put more big red arrows in the thumbnail so I could become KZread famous.

    I will never understand how people will force cute little animals to spend their life encolsed in such tiny spaces. When I was just a child my dad would go on the occasional supply hunt and at the end of the week he'd show up with at least half a dozen live stray cats and let me tell you despite what people say cats do not enjoy living in bird cages and being fed nothing but oatmeal every day. I'd say the game does a good job of capturing this often overlooked issue.

    I would love to see more videos like this, especially some of the hurdles of development and how you approach them. I’m making my first game through Godot and find it a thrilling experience

    Very neat game, I’d buy it, my fiancé used to play fishdom and similar games, so she’d love it more than I would

    Don't be fooled by this guy's charming demeanor and beautiful obfuscated eyes behind those expensive sunglasses; he's a total scam artist! He stole the idea from a poor fella by the name of xenon-69 after he posted a beta-test (an admittedly, inferior version) of this game and got banned not even two minutes afterwards. Will I be wishlisting this game? Yes. Will I be happy about this? Probably also.

    Do you spend $100 every time you publish a game on steam?

  • @xen-42

    @xen-42

    Yep, so far the first game has made back the $100 so I hope this one does too. If I reach $1000 in sales Steam refunds the original $100 but I haven't gotten there yet, hopefully some day.
