A widowed mother mourning her departed children as their corpses ride upon quite water to be set ablaze. Longing just like love will do.

Sad, sweet, beautiful, and heartbreaking all at the same time. I love this song even though it breaks me.

Causes me something that I cannot explain, weird, past , present, future all tangled, where are we going, so many questions?

When this series was released, I was probably at the lowest I've ever been. This theme just summed everything up for me. Love, lifting you up to the sky. Love, smacking you in the face and dragging your face through the dirt. Unfortunately, dragging happened more than lifting

It’s unlikely that the lyrics were written to the show, but these lines perfectly encapsulate the mythology at work. “The core that never was Now it will be The bones of What was there before”

This song makes my emotions flood. The words are there to evoke emotion. It’s symbolized the death of someone. The light of death spilling into every corner of existence. The memories and emotions the very earth me walk upon mourns with us, and remembers with us. We look to the sky with hope. But we still rip life form the earth in hopes of someday ascending. We do everything out of Necessity out of Love. But still we are doomed.

This show and this song represents the theme of meaning. Every breath and every deed searches for meaning. Mankind's search for God is his search for meaning. Mankind's search by science is his search for meaning. All is meaningful, yet "the core that never was", denoting what we thought was meaningful is now meaningless. The themes of religion and the Spiritual are echoed in the show and in the song. We pray and we hope and spend our lives looking for "the door that finally opens", flooding light (truth and meaning) onto the floor. Every breath, every deed is longing. We are all longing for meaning

Whenever I finish an episode and I’m smiling then the next when comes on then this intro starts I get this weird feeling as if there was. Great War and I survived it and this is reminding me of it ., I can’t even explain fully the feeling this gives me but it’s powerful 🤯

A song that touches the vulnerability and humanity in us all, at first I couldn't hear the spoken word properly/clearly but now having seen the lyrics it's given this song so much more awe and power to me. Beautiful.

"pulling you from the sky, just like love will do" The truth will pull you down from your arrogance, you must humble yourself to it. We see this in the character of Mother, who arrogantly obsessed over her inclination, until her purpose was revealed in the last episode, where she realized all she was fighting for was evil; the snake. Love for Campian pulled her down from this.

Amazing vocal piece - listen several times so you don't miss all the subtleties. Love it. With intro graphics it perfectly introduces "Raised by Wolves".

This song moves my heart and Sol like I have heard it lifetimes ago.

The lyrics from my first impulse: The door is always the evolution of humanity in our search for technology that finally opens and the spilling is the suffering. Our human core or condition was never whole but maybe more whole in death n more useful. Everything from this world or planet to the next with life has a longing that never stops. The highest emotion can keep you from reaching your climax n need for exploration due to feeling comfortable being in love. Love pulling you from the bottom deals with lifting you up giving you drive. Anyways that’s what it means to me but I know there’s other interpretations. Happy to here more!!

Each door, perhaps is a frontier, that we've yet to fully explore... and the opening door is our venture into these unknowns... and the light spilling on the floor is our tendency to take for granted over time what was once an eagerly sought after mystery... Meanwhile, we are forced by the status quo to maintain certain interests that slowly become meaningless traditions as we shed our naivety... traditions that were once the core of our social constructs... are looked back upon os bones... that never truly supported our fading notions about certain morals... and then there is love and/or passion pulling us into new frontiers... while our social connection pulling us into the here and now, family and other tribal connections... combine with our need to eat, sleep, socialize etc...

HBO have a propensity for cancelling when the character development starts and the series gets good.

The Universe is longing for you to get your relationship back. As long as you're apart, everything is being destroyd. Everything is crying. Everything is longing. This is the worse breakup ever.

Does anybody else think that as The show continues the intro sequence will evolve like we see in season 2 and eventually we will hear the full version of this song in the intro. Or at least the longer version of it. I hope so because I love the “every moon, every wave, every sky, every cloud, everything is longing” 2nd stansa is my favourite.
