I love falling asleep to the sound of rain on a car roof, it's the waking up a corn field and trying to get my car back out that's the problem

Personally for myself, I suffer from heavy anxiety issues, and I always come to this to help me calm down, thank you for this video

this is the greatest white noise video ever, my 4 month old baby falls asleep in 10-15 min. and sleeps very nice when this video is on,she is sleeping right now actually, i have no words to thank you enough!

Thank you so much. The inspiration was simply sitting in the passenger seat while on a 4 hour car trip in the rain. I simply could not keep my eyes open!

This takes me back to when I fell asleep in the backseat as my dad drove us home in the rain. Never felt so safe in my entire life! Thank u for hrlping me to remember this sound AND feeling!! ❤

I've had trouble sleeping for a long time now, I decided to try this because why not, I was asleep in minutes and slept all night without waking up once. I'm very impressed, and I highly suggest it.

Thanks so much. I have dealt with insomnia myself for decades and have realized that visualizing helps me fall asleep. It turns out that when we visualize we are using the same area of the human brain as when we dream. This is the basic idea behind all my recordings.

Why is this so calming? It reminds me of the time I was trapped in the car for a few hours in Texas during a major rain storm that included an F-5 tornado barreling by. Then hail the size of golf balls banging on the roof..Then a flash flood...ad nauseum..:D Thank you for the memories, BMcB

Great video... have to agree with all the comments about the soothing windshield wipers. Hopefully we can get a longer version of this video? Thanks for all that you do.

This one is so nostalgic for me... When I was a child, I frequently rode up to my aunt & uncle's on the weekend. They lived near San Francisco, CA... always raining there. I recall clear as day: dozing in the car, stirring slightly whenever we made a sharp turn, the sleepy, gray light hanging over the road and hypnotic rain tapping against the window... put me out like a light then, and still works now. Thank you for this one, Mr. McBride :)

This is so awesome!!! I get tinnitus from my sinuses alot and the ringing in my ears makes it hard to get to sleep but I put this on and it drowns it right out and I just imagine myself on a long road trip and pass right out. Thank you so much!!

I find the windshield wiper rhythm to be hypnotizing. Combine that with the white noise of rain and I zonk out! Glad it helps!!

Reminds me of when I'd go to florida as a kid. It was a pretty long drive from TN to there, and with minimal breaks. I'd fall asleep so quickly to the hum of the car and the radio playing some old 70-80s tunes.

Hell yeah, rain sound with car wiper sound! Been searching for this long time. That monotonic wiper sound adds more calming for me.

Exactly! The secret to sleeping ( and hypnotism) is visualizing . We use the same area of our big human brain to 'imagine' as we do to dream .

Thank you for this! My niece's son, 3 months old, does not sleep easily, but in a car. They have tried vacuum cleaner and hair dryer, isn't that pleasant, but this! 5 minutes and he was asleep. Sleeping right now next to my computer.

I have nocturnal epilepsy so it is hard for me to fall asleep knowing what might come.This allows me to calm down and eventually sleep.You help a lot of people, I hope it gives you satisfaction.You deserve it.

Thanks so much. I made mental notes over the last few decades on sounds that help me sleep.... my youtube channel and my website are a result of those observations.

I listen to this video so often when falling asleep but I will be honest, I have no idea what happens after about ten minutes because it makes me pass out immediately. Thank you for being the cure to my insomnia.

Ali Cat in Heels Glad it works! Being a passenger in a car on a long trip always knocks me out, too.

Personally, I'd say it was best to stop altogether on the side safest away from traffic and sleep 40 winks, with your headphones on, listening to this recording. Gone in 60secs. A worthy recording, should be saved in the national archive.

I always found the sound very relaxing... if you weren't the one driving!

Brad McBride Well, at that point is where I would hope it would magically transition into fragmented Chet Atkins or intermittent distant snatches of that scary "Theme song from Mahogany." I am imagining this laaate at night, like 2 AM in the middle of nowhere. But in the daytime, driving through the Texas Panhandle maybe, yeah I could imagine a lot of Monster Truck ads...

Not to worry, it's all good. Most nights I listen to the other one of yours anyways Brad, the 8 hour "Rain on a Tent". Better yet I wish the stormy night one was longer than 2 hours so I could listen to the Rain on a tent and the stormy night one at the same time for 8 hours, now thats what Im talking about!!

I've said this to you many times thanks for the sleep music it really helps me sleep with all the stress going on in my life. you sir are a god send and a good sport.

Visualizing is the fastest way to fall asleep ... as we 'dream' and also 'imagine' in the same area of the human brain. Glad it helps!

I don't think I could fall asleep to this, instead of relaxing, it's more nerve wrecking. Those wipers have got to go. If your in the car it's different. I always had the window down just enough for the air to blow on my face, that was also part of the experience!

haha... yes, there have been many times while driving long distances in the rain I have found myself nodding off. That's when I do indeed crank up the radio!

Liked this so much I've just bought it, partly because I believe people should be paid for their work and partly because I want it on my phone and I can't get this video on it on KZread for HTC haha. Just an afterthought, I was on a coach the other day traveling along the freeway at night, the lights were down, and it was so peaceful, would be great to see (well, hear) a sound clip along those lines.

Man, if you could make this w/o the windshield wiper sounds, it'd be perfect for me. This is the only sleep vid that doesn't worsen my tinnitus, but the wipers kinda overpower it. I love what you're doing, though. Keep it up!

This is a great one!

Part of it... the audio was mixed from different sources. Some of it was taken in my Ford Ranger, some of it was mixed in to produce the sleep sound. I did not want too many sounds as it might prove to be distracting.

Glad you like it! I will get to a bus ambiance eventually. I am on a quest to record all sounds that help people (including me) sleep.

Brad McBride Hi Brad. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you. I have just had the most stressful six months of my life, including the noisiest neighbour you can imagine, and using one of your videos basically saved me. I was that stressed and desperate for some relief that I think my subconscious was begging me to listen to something relaxing. It didn't even occur to me to think of doing this. So after searching youtube I found your videos to be the best and now use them regularly. And of course I subscribed. :-) They are such good quality and so varied, so I never get bored. Please keep doing what you're doing, because we need these! :-)

Having this playing is like a lesson - a lesson in road safety - just how soporific this sort of monotony really is. Perhaps there's some way the monotony can be overcome like mobile apps which automatically turn on the radio loud to wake them up or from, 'shaking', the seat , (or even the driving column itself), like an aircraft steering column does.
