I've always loved this song. The original version was in Japanese, but I wrote some English lyrics for it and sung them. Maybe you can sing it too.
I can't find a lot of English-language information about the origins of Rainbow Girl. This is the (Japanese) Nicopedia article about it:

I don't know Japanese well, so don't quote me on this. But it seems like the song was created anonymously on 2chan in 2007, and became really popular. Two people, Tonasa and Kurosuke, came forward as the composer/arranger and lyricist respectively. The instrumental track I used is from Tonasa's site:

There are many, many covers out there, but they can be hard to find on KZread because searching for "Rainbow Girl" brings up a bunch of unrelated stuff.
Finally, here are my lyrics. They aren't meant to be a translation, more of a reinterpretation, but the overall themes are similar to the original lyrics and I used a lot of similar lines. The English cover I linked above by Zoozbuh is more faithful to the original lyrics.
