Railroad Switching At 10 Track RR Crossing, 2 Trains Passing At Same Time! Ohio Trains
Ойын-сауық
10 Track Level Railway Crossing. Railroad Switching While 2 Other Trains Pass By At Gated Crossing In Ohio. First we see the Norfolk Southern manifest speed by a railroad crossing in Wheelersburg, Ohio along the Ohio River. Then we go back to watch the train working the yard at the railroad crossing in New Boston, Ohio. There are crossing gates and lights at both ends of the 10 track crossing. Look how long the crossing is! Have you ever seen one like this?
The city of New Boston has property at the river end of the crossing that is used for storage. City workers were cutting weeds next to the crossing and doing other work along the road near the river. There are a couple of businesses that use the road to access the river. They have huge steel beams piled up that I assume are shipped by barge. Fisherman also pass by and I saw a man on a three wheel bicycle. He came up to the crossing, waited for about ten minutes, left and came back after the train cleared the crossing.
I showed the train passing the railroad crossing in Wheelersburg first even though I filmed it there after I filmed the train switching at the 10 track crossing. I did it that way so you can see the full train first and if you get bored watching it go back and forth you can leave the video knowing you saw the full train pass by. I hope that makes sense.
I also saw a man walk by with a backpack on. I thought maybe it was Shoestring at first. Lol. No, that wasn't him but I was talking to him while typing this video. He was in the hospital while I was typing this but he said he is starting to feel better. He wants to travel to Alaska this weekend. I hope you are feeling better buddy. We will get together and film when you return.
Don't miss the slide show and the pets at the end of the video! There is always more!

Nice switching. Looks like the power today is AC4400's . NS runs a lot of long trains and even switching. It seems like they are "kicking" cars. That is the sound of the brakes releasing and applied. It is a cool sight watching the brakeman perform with the lead. I can imagine here. Thanks for posting.
Very enjoyable love freight shunting
I personally like the yard switching.. dunno bout anyone else but I like it 😊

Hey JawTooth another great video
Making all the slack, taking up the slack, pulling it forward and shoving it back! A little poetry in the making of a train. Your great videos inspire the poetry of the road, thanks jawtooth! More inspiration in the memory bank!!!
It was nice that you thought to catch the full train at Wheelersburg, Ohio before you went to New Boston, Ohio. That was a lot of switching that train did at New Boston, Ohio. Thank you for going to New Boston, Ohio to capture this action. I really enjoy it when you take us to these unusual places to watch trains. The majority of the people who view your videos will never have the opportunity to go to a place like New Boston, Ohio.

That was epic, as in loooong!! Great video though, nice to see some switching action occasionally. Shame it blocked the two passing trains. You can't have your cake and eat it, as they say, 🤣🤣 👍👍👍👍👍
That was live action at its finest. That’s one awesome 10 track crossing, don’t think I’ve seen many like that. Yeah got fooled by that train thinking it’s moving out instead it was doing switching, then get stuck on the wrong side when a coke train passes, boy sometimes u need a little luck when railfaning JT. Still turned out okay. Thanks for sharing JT.👍🏼
Good stuff Mr Jawtooth. Always interesting.
It could be worse. You and the truck could be on the other side of the flood wall while it's raining and the water is rising and those gates close in front of you. It does go to show how slow switching one car at a time can really take up so thanks for the patience
Cool & Hi from Michigan 🚂👍

Hi from a train fan . I've been fascinated with trains since I was a kid . My grandfather and I would watch for the caboose and every summer we would go to camp in Clinton county Pa. We would always stop in Renova to watch the trains come and go out of the yard. They had repair shops there to work on the locomotives. It was a great time and your videos keep those memories alive. Thanks from one rail fan to another.
I like the video , that was cool thanks.

I'm one of those who love to watch switching. Near my home, I only see NS flying past on the single track mainline.
JT,maybe you can explain to me the point of all the switching, I was under the impression that the rail cars stayed in the yard until they're ready for their next destination
You find the best places for train videos like this 10 track crossing. Liked your advice at the end about which side of the train to park on..."JT's railfanning tips". Have a great day !!!

Well, I really like watching switching operations, I learned about 3-step from you by watching your CCE videos, in those you were right up close to where the conductors were working, unfortunately we didn't get to see that process here, just a lot of back and forth.
I rather enjoyed the show, although I would have liked seeing the far end of the train where the action was taking place.
It looked like you were never going to get out of there!
The benefit of ten tracks is eventually two or more trains will pass one another, we can visit this location again 😊
Watching another video for you LIVE ACTION
🎉
Watching the crew see-sawing back and forth as they cut out various freight cars. The kind of work that may be boring to railfams, just not this railfan. Thanks for this video.
Ohio man man found wondering train yard mumbling "they stopped again!" He was treated for dehydration and is expected to make a full recovery. 😄
I once worked in a building that backed up to some tracks just outside a rail yard, and now I know what I heard all day long that sounded like they were putting trains together by crashing the cars into one another. lol

@karichelle1982
Жыл бұрын
@@JawTooth We could hear them pretty much all day, and the main rail line that comes out of that yard is way more active now than it was then. (Track upgrades since then.) The track that was directly behind us comes out of the yard and goes off in a different direction, toward the former army ammunition plant site in Charlestown (IN). A lot of those tracks are used for storage now. Or, I guess, for moving things back and forth, in the case of the one behind our building. Sadly no windows on that side of it, though!
Nice ❤️ 👌 👍 train switch but yup you will get stuck for a long time
Shunting is great when you can shunters talking. Edwin, Western Australia. It is probably not a normal access road and the locales no better.
Watching that train go by and think of all the time spent connecting all the cars, releasing the brakes, and connecting the air hoses.

Some of our crossings have bells, some have only one bell and some dont have any. I have a few railroad crossings in my videos that have the cross buck and only one bell with no lights or gates
Many of the covered hoppers cars had accident damage on their sides.
Here I made you another hamburger Jaw Tooth and since you can't get here now I guess I'll have to eat it... i use ''Ketchup 78'' on it... a great taste.
