3 Mile Long Train Railroad Switching At Winston Yard Florida, Amtrak Train Speeds By RR Crossing

Ойын-сауық

GIANT CSX Train With DPU Passes Abandoned Railroad Crossing, Then Does Railroad Switching As It Reverses Into Winston Yard. These Freight Trains & Amtrak Train Are In Lakeland, Florida. The train is doing railroad switching in the railroad yard that is just south of the CSX wye behind the drive in on the west side of Lakeland, Florida.
First we see a giant 3 mile long CSX freight train with a DPU cross the abandoned railroad crossing at Gay Road. This is a mixed freight on its way to Winston Yard. After the train passes me it reverses and uses the east leg of the wye to access Winston Yard. This yard has track that runs from Lakeland to Mulberry where we stayed at Best Western Motel. The train makes a few back and forth moves with the DPU in order to break the train down onto several tracks. Later that night I saw this same train going eastbound through Lakeland although it was shorter. We were walking around the huge lake in town that is across from the Amtrak station when it passed and I was unable to film it.
After the railroad switching we see an Amtrak train flying by eastbound past us. It had just left Tampa and was running between Miami and New York City. This was one of the fastest Amtrak trains that I have ever seen. It was booking son!!
Next we take a trip to the Circle B Bar Reserve between Lakeland and Mulberry, Florida. We went to that wildlife reserve on two different days. We still didn't complete hiking all the trails. That place is a must see. If you want to see alligators and wildlife you have to go there. Alligators are everywhere! Mrs Tooth counted 21 of them when we walked out on the wooden pier that goes into the lake. Don't fall in the water! Don't bring pets either or they will become alligator food. If you take children there I would recommend that you watch them closely. The lake is really cool because there are no boats on it and there are no buildings next to it. It looks like you are in the middle of nowhere but Lakeland is only a few miles away. We also saw a short local train go by with a caboose on the rear. It went westbound past us on the main and then reversed southbound down the west leg of the wye into Winston Yard.
Filmed Monday, February 27, 2023 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

I've never seen any movies at the Silver Moon Drive-in, but I've been near there, and I've also been at the dead end on the north side of the Lakeland Subdivision. Have you seen the industrial sidings that cross US 92 between Plant City and Auburndale?

Virtually perfect Trackside weather to shoot new JT videos. Motorists must have a lot of patience at some of these Crossings. The freight certainly was like a Pictionary of who was who in the covered Hopper world. True to Florida was the MQT boxcar like you shoot in Cincinnati being a snowbird and going south for a winter visit. Also a senior citizen that just got a facelift the TTPX bulkhead flat with rebar that got a complete overhaul and now can stay running pastors 50th birthday. All those. Critters fighting for airtime on a JT video. Looking forward to the next installment

One night just after dark I was taking a walk when I saw a cat run across the road ahead of me. I could see it had turned down the sidewalk toward me at a lope but it was running funny like it was injured. As it got closer I saw it was a really fat cat. Then it got close enough to make out the mask over its eyes. That racoon came right on down the sidewalk right toward me. I never slowed and she never slowed. I moved over to the right and she moved over to the left and we passed each other about 10 inches apart on a narrow sidewalk. She just went on about it like she did it all the time. No big thing. I've always heard the Tampa area is a hot spot for rail fans. You have shipping traffic going every direction, phosphate mines, and you name it. I ate gator tail once that an old Cajun man had made up. It was delicious. Thank Mrs.Tooth for standing there almost getting blown away by that Amtrak. I missed your radar gun. lol

another entertaining video. watching a 3 mile train go back and forth 4 times takes a hard core rail fan raccoon was probably rabid. Good thing you didn't;'t have your dog with you on the trail. my understanding is gators move very quickly for 50'
