Twenty years ago during winter I was staying in a hotel in uttarakhand, high in the hills. We were the only guests there. The hotel owner served us wheat rotis for dinner, and he was making ragi rotis for himself. Being from karnataka I was delighted to find prople eating ragi high in the Himalayas.

I got a new way to do it, I add 1 table spoon flaxseed powder with some water and microwave it 30 sec, then use that to kneed ragi or jwar flour. Since flaxseed make gel when heated with water, it will make a really good dough..and roti will be soft and fula fula🙂

They look beautifully soft. I want to make sure I’m not missing anything. I haven’t cooked much with ragi yet. I have roasted ragi flour. Should any adjustments be made, or is there any reason I can’t substitute that for the sprouted ragi flour. What will the likely differences be in the finished product? Thanks 😊

I just came across your channel and I am learning a new way of using Ragi Flour. Ragi is widely eaten in Uganda, Kenya and Southern Sudan. But we don't make Ragi Rotis. We add Ragi Flour in Boiling water, mix with flat wooden spoon, simmer it for 5 mins and then enjoy it with any Stew or Sauce. It's delicious👍🏼
