It really works out perfectly. I have bought a ssd to my ps3 and not only rage looks superb but almost every game loads twice as fast. Borderlands loads triple as fast !

jesus that's a huge difference... me and a mate played around with an ssd in his ps3 a year or so ago and didn't really notice much differnce for loading, popin etc but it's incredibly noticable here

SSD - Solid State Drive - Is an hdd without any mechanical parts, It is like a pendrive. They are very fast, faster than any hdd. With it Rage on the ps3 has almost no pop up, it is really hard to notice with ssd which is really surprising considering how much and often it happend on a regular ps3 hdd.

It benefits more than just Rage (for the naysayers). Crysis 2, The Battlefield 3 demo etc. Basically, any modern game that's pushing graphics to the limit so much that virtual memory is almost solely relied on. Skyrim too and especially (just like Oblivion)

Makes sense that a ssd would perform better, shame even a small one costs as much as the ps3 itself!

Yes but who would know that the hdd was causing all the pop-ins. Id tech 5 has lots of texture data, every texture is unique, so it needs fast hdd :) At the beginning I thought it was irrepairable.

I wana see if it fixes BF3's horrible textures pop ins

@MrNDUDE16 yeah i get that as well? i have just got a original 60gb ps3 fat what ps3 do you have? im planning to upgrade my HDD to a 7200rpm 16mb cache i get it when i go over the "whats new" section do you get this as well? just to add i never noticed any lag on my old slim... :/

other games that are much improved with the SSD are: GTA4,GT5,Borderlands,Fallout3,Oblivion,Batman AC,Assassins Creed,Crysis2,Crysis1,Burnout Paradise,Midnigth Club Los Angeles etcccc... All games openworld are better on SSD.

@SuperBrot008 i heard that some SDD's become very warm/hot?? i know some friends got overheating problems with SDD... how is your SDD temperarure?

there should be no differences! becouse your playing a DISC BASED GAME

the XBOX360 and the PS3 are OBSOLETE as hell compared to modern pc we are LUCKY we can play these games on the shit consoles
