Veena was traditionally required to be accompanied by player's singing the lyrics (unless the player experiences a problem with the throat.) ,Those passages were chosen that were particularly good for highlighting to emphasise their emotional content or musical beauty. This practice enhanced the quality of the Veena performance . it is nice to see Ramana make a good attempt at this. This worthy tradition unfortunately these days is, more often than not, ignored.
