Ramana Balachandar is a Vainika of the highest order and a true prodigy. He explores the nuances of the raga very minutely and his Veena produces such exquisite music. After hearing him, others sound pedestrian with due apologies

Haan, Kalyani is the Karnatik equivalent of Yaman.

That is correct, Kalyani is the Karnatic equivalent of Yaman in Hindustani. Both are splendid ragas, love both of them.
