I love that they retain some of the military hardware so you can actually have it easily lifted with a crane. Some docks do have cranes to life big boats like this. I serioiusly think some owners will find that feature very handy when they have to put the boat in dry storage for winter.

Hi Dan, I emailed Rafnar a couple of weeks ago about doing one of their 8m hulls with outboards as a Superyacht tender. I had a reply from Mr. Bjornsson saying they would look into it. As a tender it must be crane-able and no hard-top. The 8m has VP D3's on outdrives, again a no-no for tenders, big Merc/Yam outboards only. Just seems an obvious market for them.

The hull is absolutely strong enough for crane with lifting points from what I saw on the 1100. Engine selection a fuel will depend on the mothership I guess. I was with a big boat owner yesterday who only wants diesel tenders so fuel transfer is safe and easy in remote places. So i guess it just depends on how you will use it. But it's a very exciting hull with outboards I can confirm that. Just pay attention to the amount of water it throws up in big waves so design the guest area accordingly or pay attention to your speed in rough weather.

The 850 has just started builds on outboards with the same layouts that you see on her larger sister. Built here in the UK by Rafnar UK. My colleague, Thengill Bjornsson will respond very shortly. He is first class! What is your preferred specification... I can start work on a very simple proposal for you straight away.

@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Great comment Dan. We are already building the 850 on inboards for some stunning Explorer Yacht clients with a number in use globally today. The very first 850 on outboards is in construction at our UK factory now too. Both on inboard or outboard, the 850 can be fitted with single or four point hoist... some clients choose to have both lifting systems. The 850 is built in the UK.

That boat rocks more than any other I've seen in such calm water. I think that OK hull shape reduces slamming but it looks like it rocks like crazy. Do these guys ever give any negative feedback on boats they "review?" Seems like an advert disguised as a review. The boat has a lot of great features but any review without a single negative is suspect to me.

Are we looking at the same video..? lol It seemed fine to me and I tested it in moderate to very large waves. Check out my test drive video and see the big swells. I'm generally not a negative person anyway. It's hard to be negative when I get to test million dollar boats in the worlds most beautiful locations. An advert would mean I'm getting paid by the manufacturer or dealer to say what they want me to say - and I'm not getting paid - i fund this channel myself. I look at boats and imagine who that boat was designed for and then I speak to that person in my videos. Raising little and often pointless negative points is not my style. I would rather look for the solutions on how to improve whatever the perceived negative is and help both manufacturer and buyer make the boat and the buyers experience even better. So that's what I do with my consulting business when a buyer pays me to look at a selection of boats and recommend what is best for them based on their specific needs. I find this is more effective as it's specific to that person and more relevant. I think there is enough negative news and people on the internet so I want people who come to my channel to enjoy some positive vibes which is what boating should be all about.

@BoatLife_DansBoatLife fair enough. I saw that it handled waves head on very well, but to me it looked like it rocked more than other boats. I noticed it in a different video on that hull as well. Maybe it's just me.

@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Sounds fair considering how tough it is. I would find the military hardware handy as i can have a crane lift it to put in dry storage for the winter. In Florida and other states, they have massive garages for the public to store their boats if they don't plan to use them for a while.

I feel like you would need a bigger payload capacity for the cartel function but i like arms dealer idea. If you had a load of product you needed to unload from a cargo ship off the coast of Yemen then this would be perfet. You would need a khaki green shirt and some aviators too look the part, plus somewhere to put your cigar at the helm. I would definately add a good radar and Flir system so I could run fast at night with all my nav lights turned off.

The high bow and open deck - you serious? access that in wavy waters? wavy... not stormy .....The side platform, really safe.... and last - two points seat belts???
