Chances of that happening are low and that must have hurt with the speed of the racket coming up. Great job by Rafa and trainer to deal with it but also respect to Fognini for the concern and patience he had for Rafa knowing their history and fallouts over the years. Great sportsmanship.

That video replay in slow motion is incredible. I slowed it down further frame by frame and his racquet appears to have been intercepted by an unknown force during his follow through motion and forced to bounce off the court. He was following through and easily clearing the ground. It is as if some force in a split second pushed his racquet down and bounced it onto his face. Creepy.

The way he made sure Medic listened to him Thank.
As tennis players, you smash the racket, as Nadal, the racket smash you. Glad he’s alright and went on to win the match!
What a gladiator! What a warrior he is, continuing to fight on after such a brutal tap to the nose. An inch to the left or right and he could've been killed. Horrific scenes. Truly the GOAT after continuing to play despite his nose being lightly bruised. Hero.

Brutal and tap don't go together, learn more words that go with another
Throught this video rafa smack nose at least 10 times. Perfect loop for watching x)
The racket should get a violation for player abuse
I've once hit my mouth while playing at a strong level.. It happens.. More often than that, players hit their leg when serving, it hurts as hell, lol
Haters will say he hits himself to stop opponent rithm🙈🙈
Pobre Rafael Nadal, que trancazo se metió con la raqueta, ojalá se recupere pronto.
What injury can’t this guy play through and still win?!?! Cracked ribs, ab tear, damaged feet (from years of wearing too small shoes) and now a cracked nose?? Modern day Bionic man! 👏🏾

Why did he wear too small shoes? His family were rich surely enough to buy the correct size 👟 👟

He always has his shorts up his arse to , so he brings out his Woman's side to.
I must say US open did a great job with the camera angles
A football player would have been rolling 6 times on the floor and scream in pain

What would be the point of a tennis player doing that? It's not like he is going to be awarded a penalty or get his opponent sent off if he does that.
Fabio was really hoping Rafa would retire.
Gave myself a black eye at a tournament earlier this year going for a similar off-balance dig…the embarrassment was nearly as bad as the pain. And I was only in front of ~20 people!
When I saw the title of this video, my first thought was - click bait!
RAFA is the GOAT!!! And has class!!!
