Extremely well said! I would also add that anatomy is crucial in radiology (obviously), so know your anatomy very well, and your reports will be a hundred times better. I did the same as you when I was pretty new to radiology, writing down phrases the seniors used. Makes the report more eloquent (switching out 1-2 sentences to 1-2 words is beautiful).

Dear, i am in general radiology speciality. The question which is in my mind since long is how much knowledge is enough? As i see, no much amount of knowledge is enough since imaging appearances are not very typical always. And how much is the probable false rate of reports, that is acceptable if any, since no one can be always perfect?

Hi! I'm in my first year of radiology residency and and I am STRUGGLING with anatomy!! It was not my strongest subject back in first year of med school and it's definitely really really challenging for me. Any input on how to approach anatomy to have a solid foundation! And it's so volatile I am at my wits end

  • @TheRadMed

You are not alone trust me, it’s the most challenging part because u are looking at anatomy in a different way, get resources that focus on cross sectional anatomy and even better is books that are ct or mri anatomy, there are also apps that focus on cross sectional anatomy in various plains, that’s how us radiologists see anatomy different than netters and cadavers, ur foundation is in there just enhance it by focusing on the anatomy that is relevant to how we as radiologists practice, there is a reason radiology is a 4 yr residency, repetition and time trust in the process, ur not alone first year is tough and a huge learning curve

Anatomy is the core of Radiology without it u will struggle further,It is only branch of medicine where anatomy is crucial

What I do is took the anatomy lecture side by side like boards and beyond anatomy or something else. You just can’t skip anatomy so it’s better you start it with basic in anatomy as whole. It will makes things much easier in future.
