Fucking same! When I graduated I moved out to the Seattle area (from Wyoming) and my god it was so different. At first I didn’t mind it all because the weather was great, the food was great, the convenience of everything was awesome. However, the people felt detached. They weren’t necessarily rude or anything but they weren’t as, idk, homey? Like to me they didn’t seem to hold the same value towards their home as people did where I came from. I did eventually move back home and I do in fact enjoy it more than Washington State. Convenience isn’t all there and if you wanted to go shopping at nice malls or whatever then you’d have to drive between 30-60 minutes to get anywhere. But it’s home. Everyone here is friendly. Everyone here is armed. And we all go about our daily lives without the our state government or the federal government interfering with our lives.

Even for the ones that were gay, we always kinda just knew, but regardless, we were raised not to ask those questions because it wasn't any of our business and that shouldn't even be discussed in school. We weren't there to be pals with our teachers and vice versa. Same with college, and I even went back to college in 2000-2005 and still, NONE of my teachers ever spewed all their personal baggage on us, not even if they were asked. It was the same thing, they changed the subject or outright told you it was none of your business...as it SHOULD be!

Children are absorbing information and regurgitating it back to you because they love positive feedback from adults. They don't understand how the world works, so they are counting on adults to tell them when they get it right. When you tell them they got something right, it feels amazing to them, so they will repeat that hoping to gather the same feedback. Ergo, they will agree with you no matter what you say. @@RepubsWannaMarryKids Because of how childrens minds work, they literally cannot be trans until they're well past puberty. Children reflect what the adults want to see from them. If the adults around them praise a boy for acting like a girl, then the boy will act like a girl to the highest extent they can. They will even go so far as to chemically castrate themselves because thats what the adults told them is best for them. 10 year olds do not have the life experiance to know what they'll want to to do in their 20s or 30s. They are doing it because the adults around them are saying "It's what's best for you". This is why we don't allow children to legally consent to things, because they literally don't know what they want. They can't vote, own a gun, or legally have sex, but they're allowed to chemically castrate themselves by taking hormones/hormone blockers? lol ok. It's not bigotted to say "Let them see if it's a phase they'll grow out of" because for a rather large majority it is. Society is telling girls that if they have "boyish" tendancies then they should either transition to a boy or at the very least be non-binary. ALL based on stereotypes of what men and women are. If they still think the same way when they're 20, then fucking let them do whatever they want to their own body. They're of much better mindset to make that perminant desicion than an 8 year old is. There's also no reliable sources that say that if they transition younger the suicide rate goes down, because theres no correlation at all.

@Lacie Gould Of course no teacher would discuss what they're attracted to in detail.. don't attack something that is obviously not the case. In the case of pronouns, (which are discussed already cause you know English lessons exist) how would the students know to refer to a teacher by their pronouns and name if they weren't made aware they exist ? Subsequently if no effort is made for at least minimal LGBT education, questions are sure to arise, students are not sheep. My "leftist" ideology is a difference of life and death for many students and if you think school is only teaching math etc you're naive, it's a big part of personality development and opinion forming which should be diverse. School should be safe for ALL students to develop and visibility helps a lot. The opinions of parents should come second to the safety of the students.

Today he'd be labelled "right-wing," though, because while his specific views were unknown, he was unabashedly patriotic and loved the Constitution. As to his effectiveness as a teacher- there were two AP Gov classes, with at least 30 students in each class. Most of us took the AP exam. Everyone who took the exam passed it, most with 4's and 5's, and since those tests are graded on a curve, it means that we had learned the material far better than most of the rest of the country. I wonder if he's still teaching...

If the world was perfect, sure. But both sides are human, and sometimes the people we're suppose to rely on and depend on for support aren't there for us. I was very fortunate to have many teachers I could talk to openly about difficult issues I couldn't with my own family, just being told someone was there for me if I needed it was a great help at times. For many children, school sometimes end up becoming a safe haven for them away from the dangers of their own home life. The issue is very grey unfortunately, and that's why some of the lunacy we're seeing more often now on social media is considered ok when it may not be and potentially harmful to others in many ways. It's one thing to let your students know a bit more about your public identity, it's another to force it onto them though...

  • @zephsmith3499

@@HateIsJustice Very good point. We need to remember that most of the woke folks are well intentioned, trying to do the right thing, and want a better world. They are not inherently evil people. And many of the practices and precepts likewise grow out of positive precursors, but then jump the tracks and go rogue. To give an example, when I was young the saying was "sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me". Of course that's not literally true, but it represented an aspiration of learning to be less easily hurt by mere words. When applies reciprocally, this precept supports reciprocal free speech as well. Then a few decades ago there was the helpful recognition that some kids are badly damaged by "emotional abuse", even without sexual or physical abuse. Alas, that positive recognition turned into a slippery slope. Many people in an argument used a weaponized version, accusing the other person of emotional abuse when the label was not accurate. Gradually the difference between having hurt feelings and being harmed was eroded. The self-esteem movement was a psychological fad which has mostly been abandoned in psychology, but left a major impact on a generation (or more) of kids raised when it was popular. And eventually neo-progressive politics really weaponized mutations of the concept, treating disagreement as violence because the person being disagreed with might feel hurt or a decreased self esteem. Now, even "silence = violence" is a common protest poster. The original roots of the changed perspective were largely positive; emotional abuse is real. But then as political movements weaponize the concepts, they morph into pernicious incentives to cultivate real or pretended fragility, as a low effort approach to gain more power over others. Today, some students claim they suffer damage if a speaker they object to is allowed to give a talk on campus - even on a different subject and only to willing listeners. Even people with positive intentions can cause great harm, if too divorced from reality or psychological (spiritual?) wisdom.

There is only one radical person I have come across in my course, but there is always one. 😅 So far, there have been no red flags with the curriculum (I am studying to teach Visual Arts,) and it has been made abundantly clear what our role as educators is; we facilitate learning and encourage critical thinking. Our personal lives are not up for discussion as that is incredibly unprofessional; this also extends to the private lives of students (if they are having a hard time with anything personal, we have councillors and wellness officers for that, teachers are not qualified to do these things) A learning environment should be inclusive, but there are parameters on what that truly means.

I was pulled out of public school in 10th grade after begging my mom for a year, it was by far the best thing that my parents said yes to. I'm a senior now and looking back, I was so indoctrinated and so depressed. Homeschooling made me love learning and I don't know the person I would be if I was still in public school. Thank you Sidney for making a video on this.

I had no idea until recently it had gotten this bad. I'm Pale-ish. My urban high school was 70% African-American in 10th grade and 90% African-American by 12th grade. There were "murals" sprayed on buildings across the street that said BK which was a group advertising themselves as "Black Killers" (and with magic marker in the bathrooms) but that school had LESS RACIAL HOSTILITY and NONSENSE and far more interracial harmony than these schools as depicted. The purpose of CRT is aimed at generating conflict, on purpose, as part of a bigger strategy.

a very honorable choice! i homeschool 3 of my kids and when the baby is old enough then all 4. none of my kids have ever been in a public school and this is just one of the reasons. we tried a private school for a few years, which would have been fine if my oldest didn't have ADHD. the small private school didn't have the resources the help her. so, i have now been homeschooling for the past 4 years and love that i am the biggest influence on my children instead of a teacher and that i know everything they are learning and that it's all truths. Thank God for the freedom to homeschool!!!

The school didn't want him anymore because of the tattoo (tattoos are associated with gangs in Japan). I’ve come to understand that this behavior is simply bullying, and there are actually so many kinds of bullying. I call that kind, “passive aggressive/authoritarian bullying.” The attack doesn’t always appear direct, it’s sneaky, but the bully is pushing you (and anyone around them who might take them seriously, including their actual children who have no choice but to be around this bully for physical survival) to adhere to their moral judgment. They insidiously try and indoctrinate those around them with a cultish/rigid/narcissistic ideology. Giving kids awards for actual hard work and accomplishments makes sense and helps everyone grow and strive harder to reach their goals! Awarding kids for something based on anything other than merit, such as superficial, identity based characteristics, confuses kids and makes them insecure and less likely to really try hard and succeed on their own. Congrats to your son for the award!

If they can groom a child to the point that anyone who knows the code for it can ask "what do you want on your pizza?" and have the child understand that they're asking them to spell out their sexual desires to a potential predator without anyone around them suspecting anything, that is beyond scary. Even if that's not the intent, it's still super creepy to be teaching that stuff to a young kid.

I would put that on blast all across the country and let the internet convince the school to either fire her or transfer her somewhere to disappear. I would also be showing up to hang out in the class every day. I don't know about other schools but the schools we have here the schools let parents hang out and help in the classroom during primary grades. And my daughters classmates seem to like me and remember me even after covid. I come in one day to her class and I get the Cheers greeting "Ava's Dad". The teacher who I never met before said oh you must help out here a lot. I said no I haven't been in the class in over a year and before that it was only parties and field trips. I think it was because I came in the classroom a few times wearing my military uniform. I was Air Force but some of them referred to me as Army dad.
