Today I meltdown some old rackets that I haven’t used in years only one of the brackets was broken but I’m in the melting game not sporting game👍🏻.

HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it👌🏻😁.

I think that when you know you are using a crucible for the last time you should just melt the metal in it and leave it to cool in the shape of the crucible. You're retiring the crucible anyway so smashing it to get at the metal inside won't be a loss for you and you'll get a cool new shape other than your standard molds. Worth thinking about mebbe :)

Your videos are always welcome and a great watching experience. Thank you so much for sharing your hobby with the world.
This is best metal cast channel on here. great job!
Strong work. I'm really enjoying all of your vids. It's clean and easy to follow. I appreciate your efforts very much.
Just love your videos - watching your hobby is a hobby!
So satisfying to watch
Just in case other viewers didn't get BigD's little joke about this being the only tennis he will watch, you have to remember that the Australian Open Tennis is on at the moment in my hometown of Melbourne clear across the continent of Australia from BigD in Bunbury Western Australia.

That slag recovery was well worth it!
Excellent melt mate! Also Ingot was so awesome when he was having a nap! He is a beautiful pooch!
Nice pours. Bars look great
I loooooove how you always show how much the metal would be worth
Love your videos. Love your dog even more
I love the new intro!!!
It's your serve! The home team is cheering! The balls bounce, the sweat drips, the cars rev! And boy oh boy, it's a touchdown! The referee counts 3! The crowd goes wild! Just kiding, I don't watch much sports. LOL Nice job on those racquettes! I love to eat squash, but I don't play. These things look better as a bar than they ever did as a stack of snow-shoes. That ice definitely deserved an extra brick! LOL Thanx for a great vid M8! Cheers D! :D

Hey Justin how are you buddy sorry I haven’t been more active on my comments but I’ve only just got back from my trip a few days ago and I actually left last year👍🏻. I left my house on 30 December I took the wife to Adelaide then Melbourne then Sydney then we went to New Zealand for two weeks back to Sydney for a week and home. A long overdue holiday for us both and the first holiday we have had alone without the kids. My eldest daughter is 17 years old and she really helped my mother with the dog and other two kids while we were away. I’m sure I’ve asked you this before Justin but what is your email and I’ll send you some behind-the-scenes bullshit👌🏻👊🏻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
I missed this one . Great video well done mate cheers.👍🇬🇧🍺🤘

Thanks to you, i now want a furnace ☺

Yo, that Roman gladius sword is off the hook. Definitely your best work. !!!!!!!
Project idea for 2020...save all beer cans, get or make a compactor, press cans into cubes that will fit into crucibles, last day of 2020 fire up all furnaces and melt the can cubes. Show us the weight of cans you emptied in 2020!!
Your videos are the best
Dunno about anyone else , but i find these videos to be quite theraputic. Thanks for sharing yet another brilliant video. 👍🙏

I love the compression factor of melting and casting... the result is so clean and essential. Watching it is 'weirdly satisfying'. I am seriously considering getting a Devil's Forge. I do have my little metalworking shop (not commercially at the moment) an this could be a pretty neat thing to do. Thanks for the videos and the inspiration. Cheers from Holland

Well you made one hell of a racket destroying and cutting them up. Great second cast. Great video. 👌👍

Should’ve done a slam a tennis racket on the ground like those tennis players that rage 😂 Edit: melt baseball bats
Figured I would take a minute to give you some feedback. I love your videos. I “watch” asmr every night to go to sleep. I start with your newest upload, actually watch it, then turn on an asmr-ist, set my iPad facedown, and fall asleep to the sound. So you’re the only pre-sleep KZread videos I actually see. Love the content and it’s super interesting. Thanks for letting us join in on your hobby.
I like how you shined this bar. A shiny top and rough sides looks pretty cool I think
I didn't mind the re-melt at all - molten aluminium looks so cool 😁 and little Ingot's face at the beginning was brilliant - he was like "yeah, what's your problem?" 👍😂
One more good casting 👍🏻🤘🏻 Greetings from France
I don't know what it is about these videos. I never thought I would be into watching an Australian man melt and cast ingots and other stuff for hours on end. I guess that's what to expect in 2020. Cheers mate!
I was expecting something else to hit the ice block when it didn’t break. Glad not to be disappointed!
Great use of the tennis rackets 👍 Tennis can be fun if you are just goofing around. Good looking bar. Sure love Ingot
New to the Channel but seem to watch 4 or 5 when I mean to watch only 1 well done
Hahaahaha loved the breaking of ice😁😁😆
Per the giveaway, one new comment on one of the other videos. My wife and I enjoyed watching these rackets get torn down and melted. So satisfying! LOL!
Great vid
I’m a new sub for two weeks. Worked big iron and welding in my career. 34 years in a w/chair. These days lots of chairs are ultralights, for w/sports, all aluminum 1” tubing. You might check the classified newspaper for sales. Sometimes can get real cheap from thrift stores too. At least here in the states. But, might not be worth the price. Don’t know how much you could get for 1 kilo bars. Anyway another awesome vid! Next time you do the racquets, get some bagels eh?! thanks for sharing BigD!! 😎
Tennis lovers are dying inside right now, but for everyone else, this is so epic
Can't wait to see the dust melt. It'll be fun to see how much you get from what most people might consider trash.
Matey, Love you Very Much, May God bless you with more❣️
My favourite part of the every video is, breaking the ice cube😂❤
Now! that was freaky!
Omg that made me laugh when the ingot didn't break the ice, so you threw the cinder block XD
BigStackD....I am so happy and I must tell you the good news because I suspect you will be pleased....You have inspired me to pour a 13 lbs Zinc trout. It is beautiful and I wish I could post a pic. I know the Brits prefer measurement in Kilos but I was so thrilled to tell you I forgot to do the math....Please forgive my oversight....Good day ole chap.
I may need to try that thanks
Another great vid mate 👍. More lost foam casting, would be tops.
XD Lil ingot is acting derpy so cute!
Yes, I do know what you're going to do next. Melt stuff!
Ahh, an Australian Open inspired video.. This is the best use for a tennis racket in my opinion.. ;)
