Pipe to Perfection - Trash To Treasure - Big Brass Badge - ASMR Metal Melting - BigStackD Casting
Ойын-сауық
How are all my favourite Subs doing today? Today I use an old pipe that was found while metal detecting over a year ago and I melt it down into an awesome USA badge I found on Thingyverse. A link to the badge and the people who make it below. I first tried open casting them twice that didn’t work on my first 2 attempts my 3rd attempt was a close cast but I didn’t have enough risers but my 4th attempt came out absolutely perfect although there was a bit of extra flashing but that was my own fault because I knocked the mold🤦🏻♂️.
Again i normally say if you like the rings shown and used in this video be sure to check out the description where you can get 20% off the already discounted rings using my code and if you want to try your hand at melting yourself you can buy the burner on its own or the whole furnace set up and I can organise a 5% link for you of the total furnace price just email me on the link in the description😁👍🏻.

HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.
****************************************************
STEEL FOR MY FRIEND
I keep all my steel and cast iron pieces and I give them to my friend and once he gets about a tonne from me and his own collecting he takes that to the scrapyard and sells it then he buys some beer and comes over to my house and we make a night of it.
No My friend doesn’t have a KZread channel he just scraps metal in his spare time.

I remember when I found you with 10 subs and I told you to put the value on €. Im glad how you have grown up in subs and how well you make your videos. Cheers 😉
Best thing about your vids is that there is no talking, just sounds of the work. Very satisfying to watch!
Can i just say that i really Love, that you don't just hide when you make a mistake, It really helps me feel how hard it is, to cast something, but also how rewarding it must feel for you, when you get it right
Mate! It's my pleasure to see that people around world love USA more than many locals here.
The ultimate Aussie power move: USA badge laid on top of the Union Jack
Motor meltings and making things out of metal are two separate categories. I love seeing motors transforming into nice and clean bars, but casting is something that requires more attention and skill than just melting. Both are precious to me and both will be watched :D
It’s got to the point where it’s not officially Friday until I can watch your melts! Really love the vids
Gotta love the 3D printer background noise 🤣 open molds never work out great and a few clamps would have helped the flashing. At least it finally came out great 👍🏻 great job buddy 🍻🍻🍻🍻

This is my favorite channel on KZread. I really enjoy when you do molds 👍🏻

Thanks for showing the failures. It helps us newbies not give up. Love the USA badge. Thanks bigstackD
Watching this with my daughter. She loves it so far, standing beside me with her jaw hanging down lol It's a good teaching opportunity about metals, melting points etc. 😁👍
This was a good melt, so it took a couple of tries, I occasionally refinish antique furniture and have had to go back and redo things. The badge in the end came out looking more than just good. You do some really fine work there. This really is a lost art and you are helping to bring it back, you do some of the best I ha e seen in a long time. STAY SAFE while melting, STAY well at all times.
Perfectionist. Love the motor break downs, great repurposing into art. Anything you change from trash to artwork is cool. Be safe.
I enjoy the motor melting more myself. The dumpster diving just before the carry home and breakdown tell a much better story and for me is more entertaining.
You are a perfectionist, that is one reason i love your channel brother. great work.
I actually loved #1 because of its rugged look, and, stated as only a Southerner can, you done us proud!

A high point in the dedication to the art. I'll be happy with attempt #2 when I get my shop open? Beautiful peace, you're an inspiration
I love metalurgy... And these channel is my most wait 😁
Just got done doing homework. I needed this really bad. As to your question, I love your motor melts the most. I hope to see more of them.
I’d say more coins and less sand. My favorite part is watching the liquid metal solidify in the mold. You can’t see that in the sand. Plus sand always seems to bring difficulties. Keep up the great work. You’re my favorite channel. I can’t wait for 1 tonne
Definitely my preference is for more sand-castings, and thanks for the efforts involved for putting your activities up on KZread here. And more K9 antics :) Those two pups are priceless.
AWESOME show of that don’t give up spirit. The badge looks GREAT with the black on it. 👍🏻
That badge was way cool. I love all of your melts but I love the way you take apart motors and melt them down the best.
Your "free hand" skills, no matter etching, or painting, are amazing. No particular preference on how the metal turns out, it all good entertainment.
You've made a lot of the coins and bars; I like seeing you learn to sand cast better. Also for me, seeing the fails prior to getting it to work is more interesting than just seeing the final one work. Thanks for all the videos, and for including Ingot and Bullion.
Love the work you put in. You are an artist with metal.
As soon as I woke up the first thing I did was watch this video bigstackd deserves millions of subscribers for the effort he puts in for all his videos
I enjoy watching anything you decide to do!
Your vids have helped me fall asleep countless times
Love it, thanks for honoring our country. Loved it when you chunked stuff in frustration,, totally understand.
Thank god it's Friday. A cool video as always. Have a great weekend 👍👍👍
I love the determination. If you're trying to do something cool and it doesn't work out the first time...keep trying. Awesome video.
these videos, i am addicted to them... they almost feels like being in a warm blanket after whole day of working , out in the cold , wearing wet socks !!! 🙂
I love seeing you do both methods. It is really interesting
I just came across your channel and started binging so many videos. Great stuff man. I think it's so great that you try to leave no waste behind, even the saw dust is accounted for. Then later you end up being able to cast metal bars from the dust itself. Cool shit!! I'm basically training myself for the day I can afford tools like these to mess with metal haha
That badge looks great. I like everything you do.
Good job keeping at it! It feels good to overcome when all is said and done.
Nice job! It was a hard-fought win, but you persevered! 👍🏻
Thanks for supporting us yanks! P.s. Cheers from Tucson, AZ. Your trials for success on that badge offer a reflection of all our political and social challenges. I hope we are all able to shine in the future like your brasswork. I sure am glad you kept trying. Please know I will too, thanks in a small and very meaningful part to your support. Semper Fortis!
