I’m not sure if stealing Amazon or FedEx packages is a federal crime, but if it was delivered by the US postal service, then yes, it’d a federal crime.

It's only Federal if it's a US mail delivered package . If it's a UPS FedEx Etc it is just a state crime. And depending on the value of the package most likely just a misdemeanor.

There needs to be a past two to this. Neither one should get away with this.

Make a sequel of this, have Jane and her husband get figured out, arrested and the black guy becomes the new Chief of police.

That is crazy. My niece had a package delivered and it was stolen. She had to get a police report before the company would resend it. I told her to tell the company where she ordered from, whoever delivers it to knock on the door for a signature

The fact is that the cop will let her destroy his career and the respect he EARNED, as well as his pension...but the money from the sales of stolen packages will not cover their bills. Then, his wife MAY or may not have a problem but, to me, she just seems like a manipulative thief who uses fake tears, a "poor me; I'm so confused and helpless" act, to get away with murder (which may be her next caper, since she can get away with everything else so easily).
