I'm a Caucasian woman who absolutely adores Princess Tiana. Apparently Disney doesn't understand that a good character is the one everyone can relate to regardless of skin tone. That's a writer's goal wither it's for tv, books, or what have you

They can't make their movie "True to the original Disney movie." They would get sued. They are actually trying to make it true to the original source material compiled by the brothers Grimm, which is in the public domain.

The Disney version is only a slightly modified version of the Grimm tale. Only lacking a bit of mutilation and death. You could easily make something close enough to Disney's version for nostalgia but not get sued.

The ironic part is, if Disney had just stuck with the original version as told by the Grimms Brothers, the Prince is the useless oaf the feminist narrative wants people to believe. I believe the original has it as the Prince himself was carrying the casket and he tripped and dropped her. That's absolutely right up the woke alley direction Disney has been taking.

i think what ppl want is something on the lines of Snow White and the Huntsman. That movie is forgotten only bc the actress and the script weren't the best, but it did have alot of things going for it. I'm hoping Bret's version of snow white encompasses some of the Grim's story, along with a whole new narrative to make it so they won't get copyrighted XD It's very easy to do, I hope they can get a good writer and I'm sure they can think of something! I just want another Cinderella (2015) Live Action, the one with Cate Blanchett. THAT IS THE ONLY disney live action that was even remotely good imo and that i have on blu ray haha.

The interview I saw her give had an faux respect for the source material. She later complained that she wasn't making enough money. I can't see her in a movie anymore without thinking what an entitled poisoned pill she is. "You don't know how it feels..." --Yes, it's all about you Rachel.

I think that she screwed up and is really desperate. With all that being said, she could be being phony. I remember back when I was at school in the 1990s and the instructors would deny apologies. It showed me how people deny apologies in everyday life. Even if I don’t truly believe that those were their intentions back then.

I saw West Side Story on Netflix! I love that musical, the music, and I really like Leonard Bernstein. I got part of the way into the beginning and I saw Rachel Zegler in it. :( I couldn't watch a single second more. She sure can Bud-Lite a movie.

I didn't know who Brett Cooper was until Rachel's Snow White brought Brett into the battle. And that is a single saving grace.

Competition in film, what a novel concept. They tried making a film Rachel wanted, she should be happy even if it flops, it's hers.

The brothers Grim didn't write Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. They collected fairy tales which had evolved organically through a millennia old oral tradition. While the versions they collected were German, most of the tales could be found in recognizable versions across the whole of Northern Europe. Of course, the brothers edited the fairy tales, before publication; some of the tales would've been considered highly inappropriate by the bourgeois, who were the main market, both with regard to sex, violence, superstition, heresy, and more. Still, the core of the tales is deeply rooted in Dutch, German, Polish, and other North European cultures. Importantly, this is the culture of the People; the peasants, laborers, servants, and others in the lower classes; the culture of the majority. Hollywood elitists appropriating it for their own political purposes is spitting on countless generations who worked very hard, at great cost to themselves, in order to lift future generations up. It's a reversal of the process of democracy, humanism, and equality; it's a return to the elitism of aristocracy - the "rule of the betters". It's everything that the Hollywood elite imagines, or at least tries to pretend that they're not. This isn't really about Rachel Ziegler's skin color, though it will work against immersion, and is very revealing of the attitude and intention behind the movie; if the movie was otherwise good, though, that wouldn't be a major problem. It's much more about the insufferable moralistic arrogance of an elite that despises the "unwashed masses", and believes they're in a position to lecture, berate, and lead them. They're not. If the Rachel Zegler version isn't better, at least on the surface, with its much higher budget and production time, that's a complete scandal. The only possible explanation would then be extreme incompetence. Even with Brett Cooper being a better actress and fit for the role, Rachel Zegler and the rest of the Disney team shouldn't need to be much more than barely competent, for the other advantages to kick in.

Zegler becomes more and more like a real life Evil Queen, or make that Evil Princess. It would be the first evil Disney princess you ever watched in a movie. Her rollercoaster blubbering, temper tantrums and moping just isn't getting her feet off the ground. It is inevitable that Zegler will be superseded and left in the dust.

Daily Wire will be making a version closer to the Grimms version. Disney just told his own version of the Snow White story. Disney has made some nice adaptions but nothing from Disney has been an original story, the original stories come from independent studios purchased by Disney. Pixar for example.

Stop giving Disney credit for creating Snow White! Its a fairy tale first published by the brothers Grimm in 1812! Disney isn't capable of actually *creating anything worth watching unless some other creator comes along first and does all the heavy lifting by making something for them to diversify to death.

Zegler was white enough to be Snow White. Her deserved downfall is because she wasn't respectful of the original movie., quite the opposite. Getting rid of the 7 dwarfs wasn't too clever either.

If it were only the casting of Ms Ziegler, NBD, but messing with the original story and characters is not right...

The fact that the Snow White Rachel wanted to become was already made in *Snow White and the Huntsman* and *Mirror-Mirror* is hilarious to me. Especially since they still had a love element in there while being badasses. That’s not mentioning several *other* Snow White adaptations that had Snow White as a badass while still finding or looking for love.

Disney's remake of Mulan, Aladin, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and all other ones HAVE ALL SUCKED! A reboot is already hard when it follows a GREAT MASTERPIECE but instead of staying true to the original THEY MADE THEM ALL WORSE BY ADDING PC WOKE! Bell needs no beast, Areal needs no prince, Mulan needs no man or even army seeing how powerful she was, etc. So if disney wont make something good i'm glad other people are trying.

Why does Zegler's version even have her dressed like SW, when it is clear she is not portraying SW with Disney making up a whole new vetsion of the story with little (excuse the pun) to connect it to the original movie and even less the Grimm's fairy tale.

The Grimm brothers did not come up with the story , rather they rote it down after collecting stories like this , the orogen for this story goes back to the 15th century.

Now Brett I will give Rachel her do she was very good in West Side Story and she has a pretty good amount of Talent , but when it comes to comparing you to her , there is no comparison , BRETT you have her beat a million times over , i will go this far , if i was the head of Disney , I would offer you at list 20 million dollars to do the Snow White Remake if the Wired would let you do it ? I actually have Bentkey because even though I’m an adult, I prefer watching nonproblematic children’s cartoons than consuming what is now pushed as the adult media of today. Unless it’s something like Hells kitchen or Survivor. Even then sometimes Survivor (depending on the season and the people on there) it goes down the shitter.

Brett is a much better role model for kids than Rachel. I don’t know about anyone else but it’s disturbing to me how Rachel who seems to be very young wearing very inappropriate clothing. And again, during interviews about being Snow White. I never will understand other women claiming to be feminists feeling the need to wear clothes to attract male gaze. Plus there’s at least one interview where Rachel said she thinks she deserves the role because she’s hot-yeah, calling herself hot. Which again is not a feminist position. To think about our value based on perceived attractiveness level. Brett is more feminist than Rachel could hope to be. It seems that Snow White has been rather placed in the correct hands. Disney really can't be Disney anymore, once they decided to stay progressive. Think about it. The original stories were actually pretty much Conservative by today's standards, so a liberal progressive company trying to remake a story like this doesn't work. So, enter in, another company that could...a conservative company. Now, this company that made Snow White can do the others too. Imagine how Rapunzel, Cinderella, etc., would be made under Disney now. It couldn't be done to the source material. It just couldn't. This other company actually can, because it's not under the progressive woke tyranny. So, basically, this other company could actually restore the good faith of whom Walt Disney actually was, and that makes Disney more than pissed. They want to keep others from showing that they are traitors to the creators and that SHOULD really scare them. What they are doing to Walt's legacy is an abomination and they should be held accountable. First, it was Angel Studios, and now it's The Daily Wire that's taking a chunk out of Hollywood. In 10 more years, I do believe there will be a new huge major player in the movie making business. They just need more money, more talent and more outlets that will promote them. I don't see that far from happening.

just my opinion but COOPER'S natural disposition is what matches the source material, far more than any sour grapes about ethnicity. with equal screens and budgets for promotion, Disney's version would fail miserably in a head to head match up. nobody wants to see an arrogant whiny latina complaining nonstop about everything.

I miss Rachel Zeglar. Rachel going silent is most disappointing. The spectacle of her making a fool out of herself was really entertaining -- evidently so.

It wasn't so much Disney's changes as it was Rachel's horrific comments about the original 1937 cartoon. She was so happy and giddy trashing it which made her version completely unwatchable.

I am so glad that someone finally got the nerve to challenge Disney and bring attention to the insane things that Disney has been doing!! The Disney leadership has been so inept and completely out of touch with today's audience that one would think that they are doing this on purpose!! They are creatively bankrupt, unable to come up with new ideas, and just keep making the same movie over and over again. As soon as they announce a new movie, and we find out what it's about. Having "white skin" is not the only requirement to play Snow White. Would you accept Ben Shapiro playing Indiana Jones? Casting can make or break a film (as we learned from Rachel Zegler.)

I will not be watching Rachel in anything. I will on the other hand be watching the DW's version of the "Snow White" story.
