He obviously chose preserve tires. He was clearly the slowest of the top 4. Mazepin stole 4 seconds from him, but he was a clear 10-15 second behind the top 3 on pace. Still a lot better than Gasly and Albon in the seat, but Verstappen has nothing to fear.

@@sloppynyuszi did you watch the race? Once he passed Norris he had a 8 second gap to max and it stayed at 8 the entire stint. Then after the pit stops he had a 14 second gap to Lewis and a 12 second gap to max but Red Bull didn’t box him for some reason. Then the fresh tires got to temp and everyone closed in

As much as I want to try and defend Mazepin's driving in F1, he's consistently made mistakes and acted in a way that makes him an annoyance and almost dangerous to himself and other drivers. should have gotten a stop go for the stunt he pulled on Perez. But I think the Stewards didn't want him in front of the race leaders later on in the race

@@SelfImprovement1111 So what? He would still have finished fourth. It didn't change anything. A stop go is given for the most severe collisions. In this case a collision didn't even happen and 5 seconds was enough. Just cause its Mazepin and people love to hate on him doesn't mean you can change the rules to your will.

its so nice seeing alonso driving again

In hindsight, after the whole season, I feel this was the most boring weekend yet it still was peak entertaining. Really says a lot about how amazing this season was. Fingers crossed 2022 is even half as epic as 2021 was.

checo was faster from lap 16 ro lap 32.. 1 second faster than all the front 3 runners.. than after pit stop of hami,max and bottas he started to loose pace drastically.. lost that 14 sec gap to lewis.. if they had put him on hards which would be 5 0r 6 laps younger.. he could have caught bottas [7 seconds behind] by the end of the racce with his tyres on prime age..sadly rb left him till 57 laps on mediums [lost 14 sec to other cars for 19 extended laps on that tyre with vibration] and he couldnt do anything except get that 4th position after lol

When lewis overtook verstappen that was the shear power of the merc but when he overtook bottas even lewis haters have to agree lewis is one heck of a racer.

That move by Hamilton on Bottas is on another level.

All rise for Sir Mercedes. The greatest f1 car of all time. The car that George Russell can jump into and immediately become a race leader, that someone as painfully average as Valtteri Bottas can take pole and win the occasional race and to make one of the most overrated drivers of all time Nico Rosberg a world champion. Without this car, Hamilton would be another middle of the pack driver.

Mercedes who were far behind during the tests and the first race have got incredible development within just 1 month . Now they have the fastest Car 🙄 I suspect some cheating is going on there like what Ferrari did in 2019 . This pace advantage is truly suspicios .

@@niismo. they do waaaay more than 90 kph under safety car. Of course they seem slow, but keep in mind that the safety car driver is pushing the limit of the car when he's out.

Such a beautiful circuit. The way it's designed, it makes the fights look faster and more dynamic. Loved the race

It was awesome finally seeing Fernando put out his legendary racing pace when fitted on the hards.
