Raccoon and Opossum Trapping - The Management Advantage

Спорт

Trapping is an integral part of any property management program. Reducing coyote numbers is often the focus of most trappers, but raccoon and opossum trapping should also be a part of the focus. Not only are they nest predators that hinder the success of quail and turkeys, but they also have a negative effect on properties utilizing a supplemental feeding program.

I had the same problem with baiting the live cage traps. My uncle showed me to dig a small hole so that the bait is level with the ground and then set the trap on top of it where the trigger will go off. Give it a shot.

Jeff: If you make any more youtube videos please jack up the volume !! Your video is extremely hard to hear on my old laptop and I suspect that has a very negative effect on the number of views and comments. It surprises me how many people take the time and energy to upload videos without being adequately mic'd up. I had to add this video to a playlist to watch later by casting my laptop to my TV which has much better speakers. But I wonder how many people would be willing to do that. I have a raccoon I've been trying to trap for months, but so far he has evaded everything I've tried, which is everything in this video and a few more things. He either steals the bait without triggering the trap or trips the trap without getting caught. I've tried hanging the bait, burying it under the trap, tying it to the back of the trap and wrapping the trap in a blanket--nothing works. Anybody have any other ideas how I can catch this critter?
