When this device was announced, I was super excited and the first reviews that came out looked promising. But this has got to be the best real life review/test video I've seen that puts things in perspective. I'm going to hold off on AI devices such as the R1 until it actually can do something useful. Thanks AA!

This is probably my favorite review of the R1, it felt the most honest. I think there's a lot of potential for a device like this for people who want to reduce their reliance on a smart phone, they just released it way too early. The good news is the core feature set can evolve as LLMs in general evolve, if rabbit manages to stay afloat long enough anyway. Thanks for the review.

Reducing your reliance on a smartphone, only to introduce another form of reliance on a new device, just means all you really achieved is adding 1 more device to the list of things you have to take care of.

I don’t think it was released too early. It’s a good thing that they got it in the hands of people, that way they can be sure what people want and make a better v2. The first iPhone lacked 90% of what the current iPhone has today. I’m anticipating the R2, and let’s hope it will be a better product

  • @ComedicRick

@niyibanks9881 the difference between this and the first iphone is that even without an app store, or 3g, or any of the features it eventually got, it already improved people's lives. It was useful and revolutionary and good at what it aimed to do straight out of the box. The updates and later hardware improved it, but that made an already viable product even better. The rabbit (and similar products) have not yet demonstrated they can do anything an early iphone couldn't do, let alone anything new.
