Typically after a game at Yankee Stadium finishes the MTA will run additional trains that start service at 161 Street to help bring ease crowding along the D line. Typically these trains will run to either World Trade Center or Lower East side 2nd Avenue. The trains that go to 2nd Avenue operate via 6th avenue local and the trains that go to World Trade center operate 8th avenue local. Once these trains reach their final destination they return to concourse yard as a not in service train. These baseball special trains appear on the count down clock ususally as a D train. The "Special" scrolling on the rollsign is what is typically used for these trains but sometimes the rollsigns get jammed and they are unabled to be turned. Additionally since the 4 line also runs to Yankee Stadium sometimes special trains are put along the 4 line. However the 4 trains arent as intersting as the D lines baseball specials. The 4s just sign up as a regular 4 and terminate at either Wall Street or Bowling Green and then return to the yard out of service. With all that being said, Enjoy the Video!
