Röyksopp - Something In My Heart (feat. Jamie Irrepressible)

Музыка

'Running To The Sea' and 'Something In My Heart' are in essence both expressions of compulsion and its strong, often uncontrollable, persisting pull. Dependence is a returning theme in our music
-B+B
'Running To The Sea' features stunning vocals by the platinum-selling Norwegian artist Susanne Sundfør, and this epic, sweeping track glistens with moving beauty.
The equally elegant singing on b-side 'Something In My Heart' - a melancholy, synth hybrid - is provided by Jamie of cult orchestral pop ensemble The Irrepressibles.
Running To The Sea / Something In My Heart is available to buy on iTunes here: smarturl.it/rtts

The best thing about Royksopp is their originality. Everything they drop is fresh and alternative, but always so melodically strong and emotive. They are pioneers of modern electronica. This is absolutely sublime.

I listen to this and one person immediately comes to mind. I was young, stupid, and gave her up before I realized who I actually had. She left and I have spent 16 years missing her. Wondering what might have been. There have been other loves. But some people, you spend the rest of your life missing.

Do you believe that it is OK for the Scottish government to pay up to £80,000.00 GBP to survivors of child sexual assault and tell us to keep quiet and don't bring any legal actions against your abusers? If you believe it is wrong and will as I believe allow these offenders and their institutions to continue to sexually abuse children and vulnerable adults, will you share this information with others to help stop this financial redress bill from being passed in the scottish parliament? What is important for victims survivors and mothers fathers and all other relatives is in the link after the youtube video link of me speaking to my MSP on his answering machine. kzread.info/dash/bejne/m6eNuNJvaKzUmMo.html www.parliament.scot/parliamentarybusiness/CurrentCommittees/115852.aspx#:~:text=The%20Bill%20was%20introduced%20on%2013%20August%202020.,can%20be%20paid%20to%20their%20partner%20or%20children.

This song truly hits on a different level. In a way that few songs struggle to achieve. With the uncontemporary beats and extremely unique voice. It's what brings me back time and time again. Tonight, to comment, all these years later. Who else is with me reminiscing on the "good times" that literally feel like yesterday. For someone as young as I am, it feels especially strange to say about...

song analysis: slow, but irregular bass - relaxing the heart, but not quite, since it skips everyone now and thensteady, wavelike midtones that have a spinning, hypnotic, pressing, quality to themhigh pitch that lightly accentuates the soft excitement in the baselinedreamlike surreal vocals that is hard to pin down if male or female alliding to mystery, just has a relaxed strength to itsurreal additional effects, playing with the subconcious, relaxed atmosphere set up by the restlyrics: minimal, surreal, fractioned, more painting pictures than telling a story overall a very dreamlike, sad, but also hopeful mix that pulls you in, but not down. thanks guys, great work!

+oooodaxteroooo Good grief, impressive, it was wonderful reading that! This is reminiscent of a strain of early eighties pop in Britian, the pace and synths, vocals too; if you don't know of that type of music already have a dig around, you may like some of it.

geenatron Hi there, well i'll give a general picture of the scene so you can have fun with KZread, some of this stuff you may have even heard of before, if you really like it then hopefully my info will help you to dig further into more obscure stuff:) It was known as Synth-Pop, became prominent in the UK from 1980 till '84, singers sounded like Bowie or Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music a lot of the time, as these artists influence was obvious. Very early leanings from 1974 has to be Sparks, an American Duo which had more success over here, different from the Brit '80's stuff but i will put it out there:) Two songs you may like is Icehouse - Hey Little Girl from 1982, from Australia but with that English sound as the singer sounded a lot like David Sylvian from Japan, himself sounding like Ferry; and Split Enz - I Got You, synths galore:) Then there's the glorious Enola Gay from Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark or OMD for short; albums were good too. Ultravox, their well known hit was Vienna, try John Foxx the orignal member of Ultravox before Midge Ure with his hit Underpass, a great record. Listen to The Model, a single by Kraftwerk from 1974, VERY ahead of it's time. You may like Fade To Grey by Visage, then there's the aforementioned Japan, Tears for Fears, whose Mad World was the original, Bronski Beat, their hit Smalltown Boy was very moving, the excellent Talk Talk, Soft Cell, Pet Shop Boys, and New Order, who renamed themselves from Joy Division after the suicide of THEIR lead singer, Ian Curtis. Lastly, Human League. But there are lots more. If you're not familiar at all with this style of Music, then after hearing some of the above suggestions you will understand why i likened it to that era, Synths, pace and vocal style is very reminiscent of that time. No doubt by design as well:) See how you get on with that lot and please come back and tell me how you got on. I hope i helped:)

+Larisa David I can imagine that it's unpleasant, but I'd rather go through life with the "what if" instead of saying what's in your heart, only to find it not work out as you thought it would, because "you got on so well" and then knowing you can't or never will be with the one person you love, putting on a straight face every time you see them, pretending everything is fine. Even though inside you're dying. So yes as unpleasant as it might be,I'd rather have the "what if" weight...

I feel like music like this is the music of our generation. The 60's had brit pop and the mod scene, the 70's had the hippy scene, 80's had glam rock and experimental synth music, of course the 90's had Grunge, and I feel like music like this is just the future. The experimental elements of music today draw upon older influences but go a step further and transform it into something entirely new and different. Musicians like these guys and EDEN really define a whole new musical scene if not genre. Great stuff.
