You think that's bad? I had to review a lab report of a pretty difficult topic (precipitation hardening for those curious) and found out that they copied some sentence word for word, they didn't fit in their writing style, they didn't fit in the text structure (difficult to explain but imagine pasting a copied sentence right into your premade text without any word editing and you'll hopefully get what i mean) and the explanation was shoddy, vague and not enough (because well they didn't copy the whole segment in which it would have worked) and failed to understand it because they didn't understand the topic completely. Now why did i instantly notice the plagiarizing? Because it were sentences that I myself had written...they copied my work and presented it as their work...to me. They had to redo the experiment a year later and were lucky with that as i didn't report them to my higher up.

@@HighAdmiral small issue, cancer is in fact entirely your own body doing something it shouldn't, and its not infectious but I wouldn't call it a disease either, its where some number of your cells become damaged past the point of working properly but instead of dying which is the best case it functions just enough to reproduce or reproduce uncontrollably and can also spread to other systems and interrupt them. Pregnancy however is similar to none of these because its literally how reproduction works and every pregnancy is different, the issue was the tumor which of course the cheating deadbeat didn't realize or care, I'm surprised the guy even went to the birth if he was literally just going to skip out, who knows but clearly some people just want to be a burden

That first kind of revenge would’ve been instant and explosive, but could’ve just given him the opportunity to run away and do it all again, hurting his wife in the process. This kind of burn is deep, and will fester and bother him for a long time. The best part is since he’s kept it all a secret himself, he won’t be able to explain why he doesn’t like the name without outing himself. I'm so glad the judges in the first story made it a point to talk about the real-world repercussions of Jane's plagiarism. That's something a lot of schools fail to talk about. In an academic setting, plagiarism gets you an automatic zero for the assignment, an automatic zero for the course as a whole, and possible suspension or expulsion from the school. But in the real world, plagiarism can get you sued, leaving you out thousands or even millions of dollars. On top of that, it leads to a loss of your reputation, your job, and being blacklisted by the industry, meaning no one will ever want to work with you again. How do I know this? Because my parents once commissioned a piece of artwork (several game fish in a lake) from an artist in Northern Wisconsin, the artist made prints of it with my parents' permission. Another "artist" saw one of those prints, bought it, added one minor detail (a fisherman on a boat) in the background, and started selling it as his own original piece. My parents discovered this edited print while shopping at a store in the area a year later. My parents very nearly sued the guy, but opted not to (although I think they should have, as it was their original idea being stolen). I don't know if the artist my parents commissioned the work from ever sued, but we never saw that edited print sold ever again. So either the guy was sued and was forced by the court to stop selling the clearly plagiarized work, or was threatened with legal action unless he stopped selling it. But the original piece hangs proudly on our living room wall, above our piano.

I’ll shed a light on the korean system. There’s a visible divide between poor and wealthy. Boss and employee, the teacher receiving blackmail money to pass a student is quite common, people in higher positions usually know each other and can ruin your life, if the teacher didn’t accept the money he’d be out of job and he would probably not work in the same industry as they’d believe in the chairman more than the teacher, probably the teacher was fed up but couldn’t do anything but help the student who wouldn’t get as much in trouble as he would. The chairman chewing him out in front of everyone, is actual really common behavior in korean business set up as the higher ups prefer when the underdog takes the sole blame for the bosses mishandling of stuff.

I went through several predictions when Jane showed up. First: OP is going to gush about his nephew, and then casually mention what happened with Paul. Big blowup and divorce follow. "Jane is heavily pregnant": They're going to chat about the experience, and OP is going to relate Sara's experience and, again, casually mentioning Paul's name. Same outcome as before. "Looking for a unique name": He's going to suggest Valentina, which Jane will bring to Paul, and will lead to an argument where the truth comes out. Blowup, divorce, etc. "What about Sara?": Same outcome as before, just with a different name. I don't know if I like Paul suffering in silence more or less than him losing his side chick, but it was still a satisfying ending.

My brother, not named after anything related to Valentine's day, was born on Feb 14, and he absolutely haaaaaates it. So I absolutely congratulate the mom for thinking of her child first, and not the odd birthday, and the rest of the family that thought it was so great need to pull their heads out of their asses.

I really thought in the last story he was gonna tell her to name her baby Valentino

I don’t get the free bird story, how is someone yelling this at concerts annoying ? I’m from France, and we definitely don’t have something similar here, may someone explain that ? 😉

"Freebird" was a hit song for Lynyrd Skynyrd, a US Southern rock band. It became customary for the front man to ask the audience what they wanted to hear, and for the audience to yell "Freebird!", and this exchange made it onto the live version, which radio stations would play. It was known for going on and on in concert (hence the reference to the 16 minute version in the story).

it doesn't help that freebird is a very long song. i've seen some shows where they'll have 5 minute guitar solos and just stretch the song out

well free bird would be agitating to hear after a whilelike after you hear something too much you wouldnt like it very well and the band thing but even if it wasnt then this would be a valid reason

I have to say I’ve never quite enjoyed these story as much as I did the last one. It took one of the best and long lasting turns ever 😭

At the end of year gig at my college somebody yelled "Freebird" at one of the groups... turns out they'd learnt to play it out of pure spite and immediately started playing it

As someone who used to work in the rock music industry, I still think it is hilarious every time someone yells Freebird! Any time my friend's bands played, **I** was the one yelling "Freebird!" in the audience. Hell, I laughed as soon as I heard it on this video. lol There could be an actual story behind it, but from what I understood, the humor comes from the fact that people would yell for the original band (Lynard Skynyrd) to play this song that was very popular on the radio only to get a 15-20 minute long live jam version that got real old, real fast. O.o

As someone who was born on a holiday, let me say....it SUCKS! I never get birthday presents. When I was a kid, my parents would do this thing where they would say give me a box of crayons for Christmas and a crayon sharpener for my birthday. Never got presents until I was old enough to buy them myself.

@@SillyRamen Free Bird is a song written by the rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1973. It's about 11 minutes long and the second half of the song is just one big guitar solo. While at a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert it would make sense to yell out "Free Bird" because you are telling them that you want them to perform that song. It somehow became a sort of meme to yell out "Free Bird" at other band's concerts.
