Well if that Moronic Insurance liaison wasn't stopped, not only would OP have to go through that 12 hour painful ambulance ride sometime in the future, but many other patients would have had to suffer from his incompetency. I say that for causing himself a lot of short term pain with the risk of long term complications, just to not have to got through that ambulance ride again or having anyone else go through that hell, OP's actions are heroic.

That last story really hurt me. My upper jaw was to narrow and needed to be surgically enlarged. They basically cut it loose from the rest of my skull and cut it in half. Then screwed some kind of a spreader into my mouth. It had a screw that I had to tighten up twice a day, pushing the two jaw halves appart. Hurt pretty damn bad. And every little vibration hurt too. Even just walking normaly felt like my whole upper jaw would fall off. Not sure if what OP went through to fuck that guy over was worth it, but in my eyes, he's the baddest badass I've ever heard in a long time.

The kind of person that has never experienced "Real" pain. You find them everywhere, the people whose worst pain was stubbing their toe, or having a headache, and so cannot conceive just how intense pain can be. I would say the worst examples are when that type of person is a doctor or nurse. After this story, insurance liason officer might come in third place.

I had a person from my school who had that procedure done to her. Looked like a tv antenna stuck in a cast on her leg. I am happy to say that 2 years later she is walking and living a happy life and she still goes to school. Never knew what happed though.

I have a pretty good story for you: Back when I was highschool, I had this "moral" class. I was that kid that had perfect scores but was disliked by everyone so I always did my project on my own. Here comes the mid year project. You had to do a voluntary public work project on paper, then you had to actually do it and then make a speech in front of class. You'd be graded on how good of an idea, how useful the idea would be and how well you proved that you actually did it. Now, I don't know if it's common knowledge or not and you don't have to agree with me on this, but in my opinion, "voluntary" public work should be "voluntary" and you should not be judged on how well you did it or how helpful it is to anyone. Just picking up a cigarette bud on the street can be enough. It's voluntary. You do it out of the kindness of your heart because you see that you can do something to help people or the planet, the scale doesn't matter. You just do it. That that's what voluntary work is. Now, obviously I was completely against the teacher's way of grading this project. I was not against doing voluntary work or writing project ideas on paper, but don't grade us on it cause then it's no longer voluntary. It defeats the purpose! If you wanna grade the idea then fine, but dont force us to actually do it. If you do anyone who grades well on paper will be chained to doing something unreasonable or, on the reverse, get punished for doing something reasonable that they're willing to do cause it's judged not good enough! It becomes a chore full of negativity for the purpose of a grade, it's not voluntary. I looked at my grades and how much the project values on the school year, and I concluded that even if I get 0%, I still will finish the school year with a grade of around 70%. So I tell the teacher I will not do the project and when I get home I explained everything to my mom. While she's not happy that I'm willing to lose my perfect grade, she agrees with my point of view and gives me the okay to proceed in my decision. Next class, teacher sees I'm not working and asks why I'm not working on the project? Surprised. I look at her and I'm like, I already told you I would not do this project because I am fundamentally against you grading it this way. She raises her voice, trying to force me into working while I explain to her how voluntary work shouldn't be judged and graded like that. Eventually, not happy with me defying her autority in front of the whole class, she threatens me. Saying if I don't do the project at all she will manupulate how much that project will be worth on my final score and will make me fail the whole year. Which part of this is voluntary again? I tell her how I've explained why I do not want to do this and how she is forcing my hand. I guarantee her, she will not be happy and will come to regret her practice of "forcing" people to do "voluntary" work. She brushed off my threat, I'm just an entitled know-it-all kid who needed to be taught a lesson and she goes away, happy that she "won" this fight. Watch me! I do the paper section of the project where you're judged on how good of an idea and how helpful your idea is. I make bullshit about just picking up trash on the school property. Again and even if I decided to do that for real it should be fine. That's what voluntary work is, you do what you're willing to do and that's already good enough at least it's something, but no! It's not helpful enough. It's not big enough. It's not a good idea enough, so I get a poor score. I think she gave me like 51% or something at that section of the project. I don't care, I was already calculating on a 0% basis for not doing the whole thing, so I don't care about the grade. Then comes the section where I'm supposed to do project. Obviously I don't do it, but then comes the speech in front of class. Now, all the teams before me, you can tell that every single one of them except one has been giving fake "proof" invented on the spot. No one except that one person did their project for reals. They're making up stuff as they go. Some didn't even prepare their speech from the beginning. They just didn't do it and this whole this has been a chore, proving what I had been telling the teacher this whole time. It's my turn now, I set myself in front of the class and take a moment of silence... "You know, I'm supposed to tell you about this project that I definetly did. Well let me tell you, I didn't do it. At least I didn't do what I wrote on paper. Here's my voluntery public works project...." And then I start, I talk about everything I've told you so far. What I wrote on paper? Whatever, my actual voluntarily thing was being willing to lose grades to prove a point. I point at one guy who suposedly went through the whole town to gather clothes for donations and I'm like, "you didn't do it did you". And they're like, no, I didn't. "Who in this class actually did the "voluntary" public work project stuff that they said they did?" Only 1 girl raises her hand. Her sister is in a wheelchair, so she decided to give bottle caps to this recycling plants that makes wheelchairs. Completly understandable and commendable, but what about her 3 teamates? Nope. And remember the part about grading the idea?The one person in the class that actually applied their project was judged poorly because it was not good enough receiving a 65% on the paper section of the project. And it was something that she cared about because her sister was affected by it. And the rest, those that manage to have good grades on the idea and whatnot, all resorted to pretend and make up lies. What a great moral! Great sucess! And then I look at the teacher and I'm like, I told you I was completely against it. You forced my hand. So here I am willingly telling you off , I have my parent's support and a whole class of proof to justify taking this to the principal if you'd like. My speech now finished I head to my desk, the whole class, people who dislike me, applauding and cheering. The teacher, clearly upset tried to resume the speeches of the last few teams, but each of them enceforth started by saying "I didn't actually do it, but here's our make belief speech about how we did". That teacher was in tears the rest of the class, being reminded how right I was with every word that followed. I know I was brutal and very mean spiritted, but to this day I still stand by my beliefs. I don't know what happened to her after that, I just hope she learned a valuable lesson about what "voluntary" stands for.

Ooh i had a metal cage on my leg, theres metal pins and screws that go through my bone. It was excruciating but it was worth it to correct my foot drop, though I'm still unable to walk properly. But i also had to turn the screws every day to pull my foot Upwards. I've still got the wounds, they look like bullet wounds haha. Was one of my most painful times ever getting it put on, i woke up screaming smd they gave me loads of fentanyl. Yeah... fun times man!

I was cringing so fucking hard. Bone aches from broken bones, of which I’ve had several, are top tier pain. I can’t imagine rods and screws putting pressure on a bone… fuuuuck that

I actually CAN imagine the pain that guy went through as I had SHATTERED my ankle when I fell off of a roof. I was on crutches for 5 months and serious pain killers for over a year. Puppy bloopers! :-D Smooch da Pooch! :-D EDIT: When the dog says it's play time, IT'S PLAY TIME. :-)

Serious props to the dude who got insurance drone fired! If all patients were this dead set on making a change for the better in the medical industry, even at the expense of their own pain and suffering, maybe things would change for the better in this country's effed idea of medical systems. If breaking my bones would help, all 206 of them would be broken! Way to go man!
