I had the same situation but I didn’t get a happy ending. Me and my uncle went out for vacation with his kids one day for the week, we had also asked a friend to check on him daily while we were gone, when we came back we found the front door was basically forcefully kicked open and the glass was shattered and that my good boi, who was a pure bread Siberian Husky, was no where to be found, we could tell someone had broken in because the glass was INSIDE the house, not outside so we knew he didn’t run and wasn’t injured, so I thought. My uncle got a call from the nearby vet after they scanned his chip. they then told us that they found him on the side of the road limping yet running away from somewhere and what looked to be a bullet in his side, I got to the vet and cried with him for about 5 minutes before I told him I would see him again, that it was okay, and that he was able to rest peacefully now. Not 3 seconds later he closed his eyes and let out his final breath against my hand... I cried and still cry after losing him. We still don’t know what happened but they found non animal blood on his muzzle so he most likely attacked whoever took him. He was also very well trained and never left my side even when we would walk through town so I know for a fact he’d never just go and bite someone, he was very friendly actually and if he seen someone was asking to pet him he’d get excited and let out a brief but low howl answering for himself basically. He was my good boi and I miss him, cherish the time you have with your fur-babies while you can, you never know when some low life will take them away.

One of my dogs was also kidnapped, but I couldn't do anything because we had no clue who could stole him, neighbors saw nothing, and I was a kid back then. My other dog, was so sad that his friend gone missing and was still calling for him, and after few weeks he ran away ( I'm sure that he wanted to find his friend). We weren't home that time and when we came home and saw he's also gone, we went looking for him for whole week, (we also made posters but no-one ever called) but we couldn't find him. I'm sitting here after listening to the first story and I was reading along with rSlash when he got to the part where the doggo ran to their owner. I started to cry. No joke. As I read along, I was thinking about how this story could possibly end badly, but I am happy to know that they were reunited. I hope the thief spends the rest of her life in prison, or at least, a few years of jail time. In short, this story in particular was amazing to read and again, I was imagining all the things that could've gone wrong, but I congratulate "punk-rock-vixen" for getting her dog back from the thief. One more thing. I also want to take some time to commend the people from Facebook, Instagram and Reddit for helping her out. You people are the shining examples of what lengths people would on go to help some stranger on the internet to get her dog back. Thank you for taking the time to help her out and I'm sure "punk-rock-vixen" is thankful as well.

Have a husky (he’s currently sleeping on my legs) and this absolutely made all emotions come out. If someone stole my dog I don’t think I could compose myself as well as this person did.

Kiwi Kitten It’s Win

Being in IT myself, that last story made me laugh so hard! I knew exactly where it was going when he had mentioned changing the domain password, and the scripts that were being run on the server. Absolutely amazing and hilarious (to an IT guy that is). The description of that company made me think of when I was a junior admin for a company like that. I do have a small malicious compliance story from that company, where I needed to buy a flash drive, and needed petty cash to go and buy it quick; I needed it that day for a project. In instances like that, you need to go to the CFO, who was pretty stingy. I needed a larger flash drive, as the work I was doing required it. However, the CFO would not let me go to Walmart to spend $15 on a larger flashdrive because they were $12 on Amazon. And he game me some crappy flash drive he had to get the job done, but it was super old so it made the job take forever. However, Amazon purchases were more lenient at the company, and normally if our orders were under $200, and it was for general IT supplies, they were approved automatically. So, my boss and I decided we needed about 10 of these larger flash drives. So what would have been a $15 purchase, just costed the company about $120. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
