Mukesh recorded the last song for Raj Kapoor in July 1976, just before his America tour, for the film 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram'.

Mukesh has worked with Anil Biswas, Husnlal Bhagatram, Khem Chandra Prakash, Roshan, Madan Mohan, Jaidev, C Ramchandra, Sardar Malik, Chitragupta, Sachin Dev Burman, Naushad, Shankar Jaikishan, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Kalyanji Anandji, Khayyam, Ravi, Usha Khanna, Rahul Sung songs on the tunes of Dev Burman, Salil Choudhary, Bappi Lahiri, Rajesh Roshan and Ravindra Jain.

Mukesh ji received his first Filmfare Award for the song "Sab Kuchh Sikha Humne" from Raj Kapoor's film "Anari". This song was written by Shailendra. After that, Har Dil Aziz playback singer Mukesh was honored with the Filmfare Award for the song 'Sabse bada nadan wahi hai' from the film 'Pehchaan' (1970) and the song 'Jai Bolo Beimaan Ki' from the film 'Beimaan' (1972). .
