After that in the year 1982 it was remade in Malayalam with the title "John, Jaafar, Janardhan". In which Ratheesh, Ravindran and Mammootty played lead roles.
Even in Pakistan, "Amar Akbar Anthony" was remade in Punjabi language with the name "Akbar, Amar, Anthony". Although this remake was not official.
The story of the film "Amar Akbar Anthony" was written by Jeevanprabha Desai, the screenplay was done by writer Prayagraj and the dialogue writer was Kader Khan.

In the film "Amar Akbar Anthony", director Manmohan Desai wanted to have a song which would have the voices of all four great playback singers of Bollywood. Working on this idea of ​​the director, lyricist Anand Bakshi and composer Laxmikant Pyarelal created the song, "Humko Tumse Ho Gaya Hai Pyar.."! In this, for the first time Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi and Mukesh have lent their voices together in the same song. "Amar Akbar Anthony" ran for 25 weeks in 25 theaters in Mumbai alone. The Muhurat clap of this film was given by actor Dharmendra.
