    Amber broke up with the MC for lying to her that he was a Hero. As in he left changed costume, saved her, then came back in regular clothes. The he told her the truth and she dumped him for dishonesty. He also saved the world during one of these events and apparently he was supposed to have dinner with her family and let the world burn.

    She literally says she's not mad about him skipping on stuff, she was mad at his lack of any trust in her. You're going to get into a serious relationship with someone and you won't even tell them probably the single most important thing about your life? It's a sign you're not taking it seriously, you're holding out on the idea that it might not go anywhere. OR you're not planning to tell them even if you do get married, which is just as bad!

    On "what the hell did amber do?", she basically did the whole "YOU KEEP VANISHING FOR NO REASON" thing on a superhero who was her boyfriend, while KNOWING HE IS A SUPERHERO. And the show paints her as having done nothing wrong, so just very "arthur episode where the little sister breaks his toy plane" vibes all around.

  • @Snowthree

    @Snowthree

    Yea. No kidding. Amber is just the worst. Edit: To elaborate, Amber tries to pull the 'guilting the hero over their sudden disappearances' type stuff. Like, he'll promise to help out at the soup kitchen only to get called away to fight baddies resulting in him missing out on the helping and she'll get mad at him for it. Already this is quite annoying on its own but it's at least... expected... in a superhero relationship. The struggle between the man and the mask and all that. Thing is, later on she reveals that she had figured out that the main character is a super hero. This means that, basically, all the times she guilted him she was doing so knowing full well the reason he wasn't helping at the soup kitchen was because he was out, risking his life, to do things like stop alien invasions. When bad guys threatened her and the main character 'disappeared' only to reappear in-costume to fight them off she'd get upset... because he wasn't 'protecting her'. It turned her issues from being irritating but understandable to her being a flat-out control freak who basically only cared that the MC was doing the things that SHE wanted and she was more than willing to guilt him for having the audacity to not be under her control. To make it even worse, it seems pretty likely that the writers intended this to be a POSITIVE trait for Amber. I.E. showing she was smart and capable of figuring it out. That makes the framing just... the worst because it means we're supposed to agree, or at least sympathize, with her. That we're supposed to see her as a girlfriend that the MC has been dishonest towards and it's his fault that the relationship is suffering. Instead of her being an emotionally manipulative control freak who couldn't care less that her boyfriend (that she's supposed to love) was putting his life on the line to save people because it wasn't what she wanted him to do. Amber is just the worst.

    @@SnowthreeI strongly disagree. She even says, she's not mad that he kept disappearing, she knew what she was in for. She's mad that he never saw fit to tell her, and instead kept feeding her lame, bullshit excuses. Relationships are built on trust. Trust that he wasn't giving her. I think it was a pretty reasonable thing to be upset about. And before you play the "he was protecting her" line- HOW? I've always hated that particular trope. How does it make your family safer to NOT know the danger they're in? If you tell them, they can be prepared for things to go down. It literally puts them in more danger to hide it from them! It's basically saying, "I think you're a dumbass who will give away my secret Identity if you know." It's a sign that you have no faith in your loved ones whatsoever.

  • @Ares_V

    @Ares_V

    @@Arkios64 I'm saying we mainly perceive beauty by our personal preconception and societal convention. When you disagree with the bulk of your community if something is beautiful or not that's based on your personal preconceptions (for which may be a number of reasons) but for the must part we can tell when something fits society's current standard for beauty. What's beautiful now wouldn't haven't been considered beautiful by the standards of the middle ages for example. No one is objectively beautiful. Either you fit the mold or you don't. "Fit" body build, symmetrical features, well defined jaw, dark hair on light skin. She fits neatly in Western convention of beauty. She doesn't look like someone I would expect to win in Miss Universe but I can't point out a single feature most current Western society find visually undesirable. I believe that when we are "breaking" beauty standards is either when society's common perception of what is beautiful is shifting between trends and we choose a newer trend than a well established one, or when introduce the idea of something/someone with most features considered beautiful except for a feature that would be considered undesirable by the current beauty standards and have therefore have the potential to create a new trend of what is considered beautiful. The way we perceive the world is mainly informed by trends. Think Sir Mix a lot. He liked big butts? Why most dancers in the video look dangerously thin? Most butts in that video were really small by today's standard and I can't remember there being a single butt that would have been considered big by today's standards. That's because the convention was that to be beautiful you need to be underweight. So people with any butt (even the smallest of butts) had a relatively big butt in comparison to the beauty standard (that and the dance industry of the time having it's own extreme standard of what a dancer's body should be, limiting the pool of people available for the video but the point still stands). Same with beauty, there's not a single feature that can make anything objectively beautiful apart from the arbitrary rules or the times. Trends define what's beautiful. If the prominent features of something/someone fit current beauty standards then it's objectively beautiful for that society. If prominent features of something/someone make the list of what the current trend considers undesirable then it's objectively ugly by current standards. Technology has accelerated the rate trends shift making it so some people may be less exposed (unaware) to the current trend or having some groups of people overexposed to trends that haven't caught up with the bulk of society. This may lead us to a more diverse sense of beauty. Beauty remains a set of arbitrary rules that may only be beautiful in the context of what is the societal expectation of that time and I can't find a single visual feature in that actress that could be considered undesirable by most of today's trends, however I can fit her most prominent features neatly on some of the best established trends of current Western society. That and gauging on public perception of her I really can't pinpoint any feature or combination of features that would make her fit outside current common beauty conventions.

    I once saw some nasty bird poop on the balcony railing. I asked my brother if he saw anything. He told me he was smoking outside and a seagull shat right next to him. I guess he had a thing with him. I had to wear triple gloves and use a plastic scrub brush to get it off. It was so stanky and gross. Also I had a cricket sit on our curtain. He shat on our white curtain before being killed. Why did he feel the need to do that? And it's not like one of those curtains you can wash. No it's a rolly curtain that you just can't wash ever.

    @@erikhermansen3431 Omniman's motivations make sense. He's a conqueror doing his job for the people he believes in. He does unspeakable, unforgivable things, but nobody pretends he's a good person for doing them, and even he knows it's wrong. Amber is just straight up a manipulative narcissist for no reason and everyone in the show treats her like the good guy. Omniman has more character development in one scene than Amber has in the whole show.

    0:05 Carnotaurus, from late-cretaceous Argentina! Yes, it appeared in the movie Dinosaur, aswell as the two latest Jurassic World movies ( tho, some people mistake it with Allosaurus a lot, the main difference between the two is the arm lenght and the snout ). It's one of my favorite dinosaurs aswell ;) Despite looking so funky, Carnotaurus has pretty much a complete skeleton, so the proportions here are accurate!

I basically have to wait a few minutes with the windows down before leaving, else I'm cooking in there while waiting for the AC to bring the temperature down enough (takes more than 10 minutes before I start "feeling" it). the dog traveling to bite his owner - there's a new movie about that same thing! And the can with the hole in the middle? That happened to me last week when I tried to open a Rockstar. the tab broke off with a bit of the can't top. For the Quebec exclusions - that's usually due to provincial law FROM QUEBEC not allowing them to participate in lotteries, contests, etc. since the province doesn't benefit from it.
