r/Entitledparents She Stole a Child's Pet Cat!

r/Entitledparents The woman in today's video is so entitled, she thinks she's totally justified in stealing a child's pet cat! And to make things worse, she set the cat free in an area heavily populated by coyotes, which means that the cat probably didn't make it ☹️. What kind of absolute monster do you have to be to kill a child's pet cat??? People like that belong in jail!

I heard a similar story from my part of the world (southwest US). People were waiting in line at a movie theater, and a couple of Navajo women were speaking Navajo. Somebody called them out, thinking they were speaking Spanish, and told them to stop speaking a foreign language. They said, "We're speaking Navajo. If you want to speak English, go back to England."

As a cat parent myself, that last story hit pretty hard. I know what it is like to lose a long term companion. About two years ago I lost a cat that I had taken care of since he was a kitten. His name was Nikki Sixx, and I'd had him for I think about fifteen years at that point. HE slept in bed with me every night, and stayed by my side every moment I was home. Playing GTA? He was curled up next to me. Watching rSlash on KZread? HE was sitting in my lap with me petting him. He passed away in my arms overnight due to health issues, but he was happy and purring in the end. I tried to stay up until the last moment, but Nix held on until after I passed out. I woke up shortly after to find him cold and not breathing. I was heartbroken, even knowing he died happy. Even with the closure, and getting to say goodbye. Hell, it still hurts now. I can only imagine what that OP felt NOT having that comfort. Being certain they're little ball of fluffs died scared, alone and cold. Likely in a painful way as they became some Cayotes next meal. My heart goes out to them.

I'm Canadian. I live in a bilingual province and was hired as a lifeguard BECAUSE I could speak fluent English and French. I had a woman yell at me to "SPEAK ENGLISH!" when I was helping an elderly French couple. In a bilingual province. I can also understand and speak some German, Japanese, Spanish, Korean, Italian, Hindi, and Russian. I once caught a woman insulting me in Hindi when I was helping her. I looked her dead in the face and called her an ignorant beggar. She turned BEET RED and never came back. It's shocking the things people will do/say when they think they have linguistic superiority, or if they think you can't understand them...

that last story hit too close to home… I used to have a cat named Whiner (because she would whine whenever picked up as a kitten, it was the cutest thing). the last time I saw her was when I was taken away by CPS. I found out months after the fact that my aunt, who was supposed to be taking care of my and my mom’s cats, lost Whiner. I don’t believe her or my mom actually went and looked for her because I didn’t even know she was gone until months after the fact. she wasn’t even two years old yet.

Here is my story So a lady steals my dog All right, so for background I am a 14 yr old male. I don’t look that athletic, because I am super skinny. My family owns 2 dogs, one of them is mine and the other is my sisters. So I live next to this really cool hiking trail up a mountain, so I was taking my dog (her name is Zanzibar by the way) up the trail. I got about 2 miles up when this lady on a mountain bike comes down and stops at the fork in the road. She is biking with her child and going pretty fast, so my dog is startled and bolts into my arms. The following ensues. Em/Karen: that’s a nice dog you have there, hold old is it . Me: (she seems pretty nice right now, but I noticed the Karen hair). She is coming up to 8 years old soon. Em/Karen: well, she seems pretty healthy for her age. You must be lying . Me: no, I just take really good care of my dog, and that includes walking her twice a day. Ek (lets call her Karen jr): Ih look! A puppy! I want it I want it I want it! Me : well I’m sorry but she’s my- Karen: GIVE ME THE DOG, NOW! Me: no! I am not giving you my dog, I’ve had [Zanzibar] science I was about 6, and have taken care of her since! There is no way in hell I am giving her to you! (She is still in my arms. She is a medium sized terrier/ blue heeler mix. She was a rescue so we don’t know exactly) Karen (still on her bike) reaches out for my dog, who jumps out of my arms and runs behind me. (She is terrified of strangers because before we found her, apparently she was a stray and someone took her and threw her into a train until she was found by someone else) At this point, I am done with Karen, so I start yelling at her Me : wtf are you doing, you a-hole, you can’t just take someone’s dog because your spoiled spawn wants her! Karen : well I’m sorry for trying to pet your dog, I had no idea you abused her so much she’s afraid to be pet! (She has obviously tried to grab Zanzibar). She would be better off with me! You don’t deserve her, plus you are getting old for dogs, but my daughter is just a child, and should have any pet she wants! As she says this, she gets off her bike, and starts walking towards me. Karen: if you don’t give her to me, I will call the police. And report you for taking my dog! I personally know the sherif and will have you arrested! I pick up Zanzibar, who is shaking at this point, and start to walk up the trail. I figure if I can get far enough away from them, I will set her down. But Karen shouts something at her kid and Karen jr blocks my way, aiming her bike at me. Me: get. Out. Of. My. Way. Karen: I dare you to speak to my daughter that way again, I have her enrolled In karate classes, and she is a brown belt! At this point I think I should mention I have a black belt in taekwondo, a black belt in karate, and have practiced judo for 2 years Me (in a sarcastic voice). Oh boy, I’m so scared, don’t hurt me oh great one. Karen: you should have more respect for women and martial artists, plus, your clearly not as good as my daughter. She then proceeds to call me racial slurs I will not utter (think of some ones about Asians and your in the right track) Me: what did you just say to me? Karen then calls me the most offensive one of them I’m trying not to raise my voice as Zanzibar’s ears are next to my mouth, as I’m holding her close to me. So I set her down so I can yell at Karen. Then... Karen jr starts biking down at me. I stop the bike and shove it towards Karen. Karen (shrieking at this point): HOW DARE YOU YOU ALMOST KILLED MY CHILD Me: She CHARGED AT ME! Then, Karen notices I had put down Zanzibar, and a devilish grin creeps its may across her face. She gets back on her bike and and stars to RUN DOWN MY DOG. Zanzibar starts sprinting down the mountain. I ran down after them and then I lost them in the forks of the road. So I asked some people come if up if they had seen my dog, and gave them a description. They said they had seen a dog running in front of a mountain biker. This surprised me because I had never even seen her go that fast, because she would have had to be running faster than a biker peddling down a mountain. As I neared the bottom, I saw my Zanzibar growling and snapping at Karen. I asked what had happened to bystanders, and apparently, she had kept up the pace all the way down the mountain for 2 miles down to the parking lot. Then, Karen finally manages to grab Zanzibar, and heaves her into her car, locking her in the trunk. Then, she gets back in her bike and starts to head back up the mountain. That’s when she realizes I’m there. Karen: What are you doing down here?! Me: I’m here to get my dog back, b**** Karen: I though you weren’t coming, because you obviously abuse her, seeing as how she ran away from me like that. Me: maybe that’s because you charged at her with a hike. Ever thought about that. Of course you haven’t, you don’t think, or are incapable of doing so, I can’t tell. Karen: say that to my face! Me: I thought I was, or was I speaking to your a**, I can’t tell the difference on you. Karen proceeds to try and look me, which I block, then grab her arm, twist it behind her back, and pin her to the ground Me: try that again, will you? Karen: HELP, RAPE, RAAAAAAAAPE! Me: shut the f**k up you lying, good for nothing hell spawn! Me: Give me my dog back or I will seriously hurt you Karen: but you attacked me! Me: you attacked me first, I’m pretty sure the law is on my side in this one. Karen: no, I’m never giving her back! She is mine now! If you take her back, I’m calling the police! Me: oh really, because If the police arrive, I could and will prove she is mine, based on her tag alone. Her tag has my phone number and my parents address on it. By this point, Karen is trying to escape, so I just yank her arm into a painful position. I can here Zanzibar howling sadly and it breaks my heart, so I let go, and go over to the car. I notice the front door window is open, but my dog is in the trunk. So I reach my arms in (skinny arms perk). And unlock the car. From there, I open the trunk and let her out, and tell her to go home. It is at this point that I realize the pads in her feet are cut, and she is bleeding. So I take her out and carry her, take out some water and wash her feet. Karen is still on the grains trying to get up, but can’t quite push herself up, as I probably dislocated her shoulder. It is at this point her daughter finally makes it down the mountain. I start walking back to my house, when I hear something. I turn around just in time to see Karen jr charging at me with her bike. I run out of the way, still holding Zanzibar, and kick the [bike] down. Karen jr falls down, I would normally have felt bad, but In This case I just did not care. I went back to my house and cooked up a special meal for her, massaged her, and bandaged her paws. Hopefully this was not to long. I would really appreciate if you could get Rslash to see this, thanks! [Edit the things in brackets are the edits]

I have a story on a similar line to the Welsh lady's. My grandmother goes to an "Indian church" (basically it's a Christian church where most of the members are Native American, and there's some traditional aspects thrown in like smudging and hymns in Cherokee). They have a member who's a Navajo man; I've never met him and I can't quite remember his name, but I think it was something like Thomas. He's the main character of this story. My grandma likes to come home and tell me about funny things that happen at church, since I usually don't go with her. One day, she came home and told me about a story that Thomas had been telling people at church. See, Thomas is pretty new to Kansas---he used to live up in the New England area, I think. Apparently, shortly after he moved here, he had a proper encounter with White Lady Karen. Thomas is fluent, or at least very good at, speaking the Navajo language, and speaks it regularly with his family as not many people speak it anymore. While out at some public place, a store maybe, Thomas was teaching his young kids some new words in Navajo when a white lady walked up and demanded he speak English, because "you're in America, not *Mexico*!" He proceeded to tell her, with presumably the most droll stare, that he was speaking Navajo. She went so red in the face that he thought she was going to bust a vein. He's my hero.

The first stolen cat story reminds me of a friend's story. Though in their case, it was a misunderstanding. The friends' family had an outdoor cat, and the kids who took the cat thought it was their cat that ran away a year before, because it came up to them, and was friendly to them. My friend's family assumed the cat had died because she was old, up until one of their kids found them at one of their friends' houses almost a year later. Cat was returned, and lived happy for another year and a half.

That last story genuinely pissed me off Cats are my favorite animal, hands down. I had two cats when I was a baby. They were there before I was born. Unfortunately, they passed when I was very young, and I can't remember them. I only have stories and pictures. I have always wanted a cat, but I was very allergic to most of my childhood. Not deathly, but constant sneezing, difficulty breath, itchy eyes, the works. I was heartbroken. My brother had a cat, and I'd almost kill myself cuddling her trying to cram in enough cat time in one day to last me until I saw her again. And then whatever greater power gave me a huge blessing. I started getting over my allergy. We moved when I was 10, and around that time, the symptoms got less and less until one day we went to visit them, and I had no issue around either my brother or his wife's cat, who were both long-haired fluffy cats. I was over the moon and would pet and play with them until they attacked me to get me to leave them be. And then for Christmas when I was 14, im 16 now so two years ago, one of our neighbors found a stray kitten. A beautiful 4-month-old tortoiseshell calico. My mom showed her to me, and I did the usual gushy, "she's beautiful" I do with every cat picture. I had learned by this point not to ask or even hint at wanting a cat when I was shown one as they never would get me one, and I'd get my hopes up for nothing. But then she asked if I wanted her. Absolutely yes. She asked the neighbor, and she was still available. We went to see her and ended up taking her. She was sick at the time and underweight from being stray, but nothing terrible. We got her everything she needs and then took her for a check-up. Sick, as expected, give her these meds and vitamins. She's also FIV positive, so she needed extra care, but I was more than happy to provide her with it. I took careful care of her for weeks, but she's not getting better. In fact, she's much worse. Take her in, and she has gotten worse. Worse as in, even with the best care, she might die. She has a bad lung infection because she's FIV and what was a cold had gotten much worse, and it was bad enough she has issues breathing even now that she's all better and we have to be careful when we play with her, and if she ever gets sick again Ir has issues with her allergies. Before the checkup, my dad had complained about her being expensive, a lot, and shit hit the fan when he got the estimate about how much it would cost. I don't remember, something like 200 dollars, I want to say. He went on a rant about her being expensive, and not even worth the trouble. All while I'm sitting there, holding my dying kitten, after wanting a cat for literally my entire life and spending weeks tending and doting on her every waking minute. I was sure he'd have her put down, or decide that even that was too expensive and have her die slowly and painfully at home. He's never liked cats or any animals, but that's another story. Also, this cat was my mom's quick fix to my depression, which I'd suffered from for many years, even in my childhood, and had gotten worse when I was 12. She still refuses to get me proper help, but that too is another story. This didn't fix it, obviously, but it helped a lot. To say I was struggling not to have a break down would be a huge understatement. I wanted to curl up on the floor and bawl my eyes out and beat the shit out of my douchebag father at the same time. We are and were not poor by any means. He has a good job and makes a lot. He just uses money to manipulate us. He ended up caving and paying for the treatment after I firmly said I wanted this cat and refused to be persuaded to let her die. He only got her the bare minimum of what she needed, though. It's a mircial she survived, and if she hadn't, that might have been my breaking point with all the horrible shit he's done. I spent several more months tending to her and nursing her back to health, I would get up super early and hardly leave her side except to sleep until she was doing better and much healthier, while fighting my father for the supplies and medicine she needed. She is now a happy, healthy, and quite obnoxious little demon cat at the age of about two years old now, and I love her to bits and pieces. She isn't expected to make it past 10 years with her FIV, but I intend to make it the best 10 years I possibly can. Her name is Sassafrass, but we call her Sassy/Sass, and she loves to listen to RSlash with me while she relaxes/naps in the window.

The one with the cats is so heart wrenching. My ex from 6th grade had previously tried doing that with one of my dogs. Her equally insane and evil older sister drive her out to like the middle of nowhere with my dog and as they were driving at like 30mph dumped him out of the car. He broke one of his legs but luckily after only 3 hours limped his way back toward our neighborhood and one of my awesome neighbors spotted him. After my ex had confessed not only did her older sister get fined for animal abuse and theft but when my ex literally came over to my house the next day to laugh at me because my dog was probably dead (he wasn’t, he was at the vet at the time) I snapped and literally threw her out the front door. I legitimately grabbed her by hair, dragged her to the front door and threw her out. It might seem a bit excessive especially since my dog was fine but I couldn’t hold myself back anymore. In fact, I am 100% sure that if I didn’t have to worry about being charged with assault and blah blah blah I would’ve absolutely sent her to the hospital with more than just a couple of bruises.

I have two cats who I love dearly, I adopted them through the humane society and part of the adoption fee actually goes toward microchipping where on the chip is the name the shelter gave them. I changed both their names when adopting but left the microchip names as they were. Scenarios like this are why I'm glad I did so because if asked, I can call them by the names I gave them and if someone takes my babies they can't claim they told me their names beforehand and I can ask for the names on the microchips. Nobody will mess with my fur babies. Might sound confusing but it does make sense, I swear... That last story also broke my heart, and I hope karma hit that woman like a brick off a twelve story building.

And the worst part is you need the job so you just have to stand there and take it and they know it. I have social anxiety so I felt so bad for the girl who had trouble speaking English when anxious and being yelled at, I'm so glad that man was there to send that horrible woman away. Also anyone who steals cats is a complete piece of crap with the abundance of stray and homeless cats out there GO GET ONE OF THOSE.

The last story makes me absolutely livid and disgusted. (Tldr: I have my own cats, and I live in an area where dangerous wildlife can be common out of towns or cities. Cats cannot survive without proper hunting skills or ways to defend themselves. Whoever would dump a domesticated animal in the middle of nowhere is a piece of garbage.) My family and I own, quite a few pets. We own 8 cats. They're all outdoor/indoor cats except for my cat and my mom's kitten, who are both indoor cats. We live in a pretty rural town that's surrounded by mountains and farms within the valley. A town full of ranchers, farmers, gardeners, you get the idea. What I'm basically saying is, everything outside of town, is wilderness and we can literally hear coyotes yipping every night. (My house is near the outskirts of the town, but still inside enough to be considered "in town). If anyone, had just grabbed my cats and dumped them in the middle of nowhere here, they would more than definitely die. Coyotes, hawks, cougars, eagles even (which ngl, we get a FAIR AMOUNT of em out of rural and suburban areas, though some do drop by in town. They're EVEN BIGGER than hawks! So if a cat gets snatched by one of those, they're basically done for), a housecat or just domesticated cats would NOT survive well out there, especially ours. Even though they're outdoor cats, I'm pretty sure they don't know how to hunt, since there isn't much area around my neighborhood to do so. Though, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, since they're outside a lot and probably try to at least. I can't believe anyone would have the guts or the heart to just dump an animal in general, out in the middle of nowhere! And based on what op said in the last story, I'm assuming their cats were full on housecats, who don't know how to hunt, or basically even fend for themselves. Which makes it even worse. They have absolutely no chance of surviving with no hunting skill and less than a lack of predators. I dunno. That story, it just makes my blood boil. I love all my cats dearly, and I can't lie, if one went missing and I learned it was because of some idiot stealing cats and releasing them somewhere they would definitely die, I would personally beat them to an inch of their life.

I know this is very late, but the story about the stolen cat made me want to share. There is a lady in my town right now who walks around with a baby carriage and a cat carrier, picking up random cats (most of which have homes) and re-locating them to far off towns. She either gives them to shelters or leaves them on the side of the road. She is literally abandoning OTHER PEOPLES CATS so far away that their chances of getting home are very slim. All because she hates cats. She was caught and arrested once, but she's back at it and nobody has proof.

My stepmom, bio dad and I got into a fight involving me getting kicked out and moving to another state. I had a pet snake that I got with my own money and was my sole responsibility. When I got kicked out, I only had my clothes and some jewelry in a duffel bag. When I tried to come back the next day to get Cheeto, I was turned away and told he wasn’t mine anymore. I waited it out for about 2 weeks and when all my stuff was dropped off, he wasn’t included. I asked again if I could have him and was told no. Another week goes by and I contact my sister asking what had happened to him. Turns out they left him to die. Didn’t feed him, give him water, change his bedding, didn’t even turn on the fan in the room so he wouldn’t overheat (it was Arizona). My poor baby ended up dying of dehydration and overheating, because my parents decided to be petty and wouldn’t let me take him with me. I miss him a lot and am hoping to get a new noodle baby soon..but my fiancé is terrified of snakes so I doubt that’ll happen anytime soon.

Even if they paid for some things, get them a refund or pay them back then cut them out. You never have to do anything just because someone it faaaammmillly. It is okay to ditch people who are cruel and toxic even if it permanently burns a bridge, because you did not set that bridge on fire, they did and you have been trying to hold off the flames. I don't care what they have done for you in the past, if they are abusive it is your right to cut them out of your life and you are not a bad person for doing that.

I'm glad that my cats are able to survive on their own, I pulled both out of a brush pile when they were kittens, their mother was missing, my grandpa told me he had seen a fox out there the other day and said that the fox likely killed it, (the brush pile is at their house) me being a kid decided to keep them, sadly there were three and we only caught two the other one didn't eat or drink anything we left out we never found it's body but assumed it didn't make it, my grandparents agreed to keep them for a while as we were moving about a mile away from them and it would be less stressful, their names are Pinky and Clover, Pinky is mostly black and thin, Clover is mostly brown and super fat, when we got them to our house pinky would sometimes kill some things, but the coyotes are really bad at our house so they would sleep in an old shed that had a hole in the door, so our dogs couldn't get to them, Pinky got into a fight with something and got bit on her nose (it went through into her nostril) there still is a hole in her nose, something got after Clover and chased her up a tree, the trees in our yard don't usually have low branches so she climbed up around 40ft to the lowest branch, and sat there for multiple DAYS at one point we call the fire station to get a ladder, sadly there wasn't any pavement so they couldn't come, we rigged up a carrier on a rope and sent it up the tree, she finally got in and we let her down,

I’m so sorry to op who lost their cats to their evil stepmom. I’m listening and doodling and it made me cry because I also have two cats that are my babies. I’d be devastated if that happened to me

*”Animal cruelty involves gratuitously inflicting harm, injuring, or killing an animal. The cruelty can be intentional, such as kicking, burning, stabbing, beating, or shooting; or it can involve neglect, such as depriving an animal of water, shelter, food, and necessary medical treatment”* Credits to the person that wrote this- BUT yes what she did was considered animal abuse Oh and abandoning a dog or cat or any pet is considered illegal unless they drop them off at an animal shelter or with a new owner

Those poor cats... I can't begin to imagine how frightened and confused they must've been. I don't want to begin to think about what likely happened to them. That stepmonster should be locked up. Why are some people so evil
