r/Entitledparents Give Me Free Food Or I'll Throw Food At You!

r/Entitledparents In today's episode, an entitled Karen completely flips out at a fast food cashier over a freaking ice cream cone. Why on earth would you scream and shout at another human being just because they got you the wrong size ice cream cone? The manager attempts to intervene, and it's a good thing he did, because the Karen THROWS THE ICE CREAM CONE AT THE CASHIER! The manager smacks the cone out of the air like a pro NBA player. Not in my house, Karen! If you like this video and you want to see more, subscribe to my channel for daily Reddit videos!

Man...That story reminds me of what happened when my great uncle passed away. We were pretty close. We were both introverts, book nerds, and loved sci-fi. I called him and talked to him. He was a loner, never got married or had kids. So when he died in October we were shocked to learn that he had left a hefty amount of money to me. Everyone was pissed, mainly my grandma. I was shocked, my cousins (who NEVER spent time with him got nothing). Apparently it was “unfair” that I was getting money and my cousins weren’t. I would rather have him here than any amount of money. But I’m using it how he wanted me to, to pay for college.

It's just like if someone experiences abuse in their childhood, when/if they have a family of their own they either continue the cycle by beating their own family or they go in the opposite direction and never touch their family in any negative way. My step-dad was abused hard core growing up, but when we were little he refused to spank us 99% of the time because he was so afraid of accidentally hurting us thanks to his own childhood.

@@JOBdOut There's definately both nature and nurture that go into determining how a child will turn out, you're not wrong there. But I wouldn't be assuming that they both were 'nurtured' the same way. Just because they were raised in the same house by the same parents doesn't mean they were treated the same - which is fairly obvious when you look at eldest child vs youngest child. I'm any case, that girl turned out to be a right nasty piece of work. I'm just glad I get along well with my own older sister.

I'm kidding, this is obviously the mindset of the mother since you can tell that the mother despises OP for telling off her selfish sister and refusing to give her money to her sister, and there was an update of the story where the grandmother was about to die soon and since OP had been a disgraceful child, she must give her money to her perfect sister. OP pretty much had enough of them and I can't remember what happened afterwards, but I think it's safe to assume that OP is completely done with her mother and sister and has moved away from them.

The entitled granddaughter sounds just like my nephew. The only time my mum and dad see him is at Christmas when he knows he's getting money. He never calls them, never comes to say a quick hello, never gets them anything for their Christmas or birthday. When it comes to his birthday money (again) gets put in a card and sent to him. My mum and dad are both in their 70s and they've always treated him well yet he can barely even say hello. His other family he would go to the ends of the earth for, all their birthdays and Christmases he will for out for but as far as he's concerned we don't exist. I've kinda washed my hands of him now. That way we can't be disappointed anymore.

I honestly thought that it was going to go the way of "she gave the large cone to the child and walked out without paying", but apparently I was wrong. It seems to me like EB didn't have their child's desires in mind at all - if she did, the child would have been eating that cone. Instead, she just wanted to "win" a "fight" against some poor hapless fast food employees (who aren't really allowed to retaliate back at all) . I'd say the EB is being more childish than the actual child...

The ice cream cone sounds like Chick-Fil-A talk, I used to work at one and dealt with many EP. The one that sticks to my mind was when I was working the drive thru drink position and one of the headset people didn't communicate with me that the customer asked for no ice. Which is no big deal, customer was frustrated so I pour the ice out top off the cup and hand it to him. He then says it's still not right and I'm like okayy. So, I get a brand new cup fill it with his drink, stick the straw in it, and hand it to him. He then says it's still not right, Thanks for ruining my night and drove off. I am still befuddled to this day about this one.

It's just that OP's parents and sister pretty much took advantage of that so that they can get more money. That's what I saw, two grandparents that are reasonable and generous and are willing to help out the other members of the family for their financial problems. But one part of the family who are greedy, money-hungry and selfish pretty much used that for their own gain and have no shame from their actions at all.

For calling the sister out for being rude and selfish and being the complete opposite of her sister?) and therefore, she must give all her money to her sister, luckily, OP had enough of her mother and sister and I can't remember what happened afterwards, but I like to assume OP had finally moved out and took her inheritance with her, which is a good call.

Second Story. For any person wondering about college majors. It's not unusual for students to change their major multiple times. I worked at a university helping incoming freshman with any questions or problems they might face while transitioning into college life. The advice I usually give the students is to explore the different Majors available that they are interested in and to declare a major in their junior year. Almost any class they take before then will go towards whatever major they decide to choose.

I was the first in my family to go to college. I got a lot of scholarships but my blue collar parents had to pay for stuff like books AND I had work study (you do a low level job on campus for minimum wage). After that I took out a loans for my higher degree which got me a white collar job. I then supported my parents 100%. I am grateful for their unfailing financial support even when things were tough and can't IMAGINE what it would have been like to have a family member give me a free ride. My school debt (which I've paid off over the years) was the size of a mortgage. So basiclly, since I eventually bought a house I started my career off owing the equivalent of 2 mortgages. Other people have the world handed to them and are ungrateful. I would have made that grandad PROUD.

Regarding the money-hungry EB in the second story, I have a similar story about my cousin. He was my gran's (dad's mum) golden child. She was always talking about how well he was doing, every achievement he made (not that many as he was lazy beyond words). He knew that she would give him anything she wanted and he capitalized on that big time. When she had to stop driving due to ill health, he got the car (which he crashed and totaled within a week) when our granddad died, he got his full kilt (traditional Scottish men's clothing) which was worth a three figure sum. When she was no longer able to supply him with money or material goods, he stopped communication with her. Didn't go to visit her, didn't call to speak to her etc. When she passed away last year, he skipped on her funeral, with a pathetic made up excuse (no one could look after his dogs, I'm sure if he tried he would have arranged something). When we scattered her ashes, he didn't turn up either. I have had no contact with him since me and him were 15 (he's 6 weeks older than me and I'm 29) and have no intentions of reaching out to him. He is a selfish man, who quite frankly needs to grow up (he won't though, his behaviour has been indulged his entire life).

My grandma helped me pay for my university before she passed away. Any money she left me my dad stole and bought a new house with, 3rd or 4th house within the decade. I can't imaging how anyone could be so cruel to someone that helped them out that much. $12k extra, If I had that kind of money just given to me for school, I could bust my ass twice as hard, just to make them proud. Even from what my own grandma gave me, which was a lot less in comparison to the story but super grateful to me and my family, I still have straight As, and I wish my grandma could see me now. I'm two weeks until graduating, and still going strong.

1st story. I grew up in a different time. 3rd of 6 children, if any of us ever misbehaved in public, we were promptly escorted to the car, locked in and told to stay there. 5 out of 6 kids only got that punishment once. I, however, was born to rebel. After the 3rd or 4th time, I unlocked the door and walked to my friends house, about 10-12 city blocks away. I spent the night, telling my friend's parents that my family knew and had OK'd it. They were fine with this, because I was a fairly regular overnight guest. My parents, however, were positive I had been kidnapped, or worse. Police were called. Aunts and uncles scoured the neighborhood all night through the nest morning. Finally, at a decent morning hour my parents started calling my friends. The 2nd phone call located me. While they were enroute to pick me up, I left and went to the 1st friend they had contacted. I assumed they wouldn't call there, because they had already called them once. Long story short, I evaded my parents, family and police for 36 hours. I was 8 years old . I was never left alone in the car again.

If someone walked by, my brother and I would duck down. We treated it as a game, based off of the commercials on the radio at that time that warned about an outbreak of car break ins. The rules were pretty much just "don't get spotted, but if you do, glare" Rather weird, but we were children, and we were having fun with it. The ac (heater in the winter) was always on, and I'm pretty sure my mother or father kept an eye on the car, just letting us have fun.

The story about the rich grandparents... how does this girl LIVE WITH HERSELF? Like I would be in the middle of thinking about a hissy fit and feel bad. Who can act that spoils and not feel bad? All that time and money and disappointed family makes my heart sink.

Dude... The story about that girl and how rude and disrespectful she was towards her grandparents made me SOOOO angry. My grandfather abandoned my mom and her 5 siblings, cheated multiple times on my grandma before leaving. Years later (I was 14 and it was the first time I ever saw him), he came to our house and supposedly needed a place to stay (he was homeless since his ex wife kicked him out). Time passed, and he made my parents argue A FUCKING LOT. It was horrible. Finally, during my 15th birthday, I saw him leave... Hours later, after a little reunion I had, two of my uncles started fighting on the yard. Punching, throwing empty beer bottles (made of glass), screaming things... When the police came, one of them had to go to the hospital. The reason of the fight? My grandfather told each one lies about the other one saying horrible things about them. He escaped before the shit went down. My grandmother? Got a boyfriend from Italy, left a month and then my grandfather moved in. She came back and pretended they were a happy family. Also she has done HORRIBLE things to my parents as well. If your family is so supporting of you, and loves you so much... Why in the fucking shitty world would you treat them like garbage? I just don't get it. Appreciate what you have.

I am 14 and English is not my first language too. And I am happy that English people are always warning other people about the grammar mistakes they do. It really helps a lot, since you learn from your mistakes.

I know this isn’t reddit but whatever- a couple of weeks ago I was at the skate park with my boyfriend on a hot summer day. (We are both teenagers)- there was a few little kids there and other teens that I know from my highschool. To explain the main problem here, my boyfriend is a year older than me ( I’m 15 he’s 16) and he looks a lot older than his actual age, but I have kind of a baby face. He’s also doubled my height (I’m 5’9 and he’s 6’10) and he has very bad anger and is very protective over me. He’s also extremely fit so he’s one scary looking guy. But when it comes to me he’s a gentle giant. He was skating around the skate park watching out for the kids as I watched from afar so I wasn’t in anyone’s way. I was minding my own business when some boy (he looked around 11) came up to me and started hitting on me saying “ hey gorgeous what are you doing here at a place like this?” I nicely explained to him that I have a boyfriend and that I’m too old for him. He ignored the fact I said that and he sat beside me and put his hand on my thigh. I was uncomfortable and nicely reminded him that I’m older than him and that I have a boyfriend. He replied with “who cares baby, he doesn’t have to know” and he moved his hand closer to my private. I was so uncomfortable and pissed off that my only thought was to slap him and move away, so I did. Then SHE happened- god help our souls- “ExUsE mE” some 30 year old looking lady came huffing and puffing towards me. “HoW dArE yOu SlaP mY sOn” I kindly explained to her what happened as my boyfriend came back over to me after he saw what happened. “MY SON WOULD NEVER DO THAT” she was shouting like a mad woman and everyone there was staring. (I have very bad PTSD when it comes to people yelling at me so I will normally begin shaking in fear and start crying) I was beginning to become scared and I started crying and shaking so I hid behind my boyfriend, “STOP BEING A LITTLE SHIT. YOU ASSAULTED MY BOY” my boyfriend was NOT having it and he was pissed off. He looked down at this lady and glared saying “look lady, your son was harassing my girlfriend and was groping her, she told him to back off and he didn’t. You should teach your son some damn manners before I do it myself” the lady took her sons hand and she backed up, I could see the fear in her eyes. She left in a hurry dragging her son behind her. My boyfriend turned back to me hugging me trying to calm me down so I stop crying and apologized that he didn’t see him do that to me. Him and I still go to this day and we haven’t seen them since

Damn i wish my grandma and grandpa would do the same...(they don't have anywhere near 2.8 billion) they are going to "split it evenly" even though my dad has been tending to them the entire time they have started to go a bit "off the wall". Not to mention he has been farming with my grandfather for all of 40 years. He refuses to give my dad the farm as he is rightly owed and says he has to split it with his sisters. He does all the work, billing, investing, crops, taxes, property tax, fuel, new equipment and repairs, not to mention keeping his parents place intact. His sisters have never stepped foot in the farm yard since they were little. They come for holidays to "show face" but act distant and run as soon as they can. Like literally 8 hours time they are leaving. No help from any sibling, no answer about what to do with them, where they would go, who would help pay, nothing. Haven't visited in over 3 years now, plenty of new grand children and new additions to the family via marriage... no sign of any of them ever coming. They will sure as shit come when they pass away to reap whatever they can off them. It's really not fair my dad invested his whole life into farming and should at least be able to have the farm and its contents seeing as how he was the one that made them happen. My aunts live in different places, ranging from 3-10 hours away. I keep telling my grandpa that he needs to give my dad peace of mind that he will give him what he rightly deserves but just scoffs at me like I'm unaware of the circumstances. My dad is the only one taking care of them now since they live just nearby but he refuses to change his mind even with this help. I have a weird relationship with them as well, I will gladly help and do things around with them. but they always try to throw $100 bills at me for doing even the most simple of things. They try to buy out there love... I know nothing about them personally, no stories, no laughs, no memories, no fun times, nothing.. just they are my grandparents and i have to respect them... which i do. I just wanted grandparents who people talk about that have stories or showed them cool things, or wisdom on something. They are just people down the street from where I used to live now. Sad they don't take any interest in their own childs kids. I know their names and when they are born, that's about it. I'm sure some will say I should reach out to them, no.. i refuse to get to know someone who doesn't even know if I am alive, let alone cared anything about any of (me and my brothers) growing up. My brothers and I lived next door for 13 years and I never once had them come to a game, talk, ask anything about me, or even get to know me beyond my name. My grandma hugged me and said I love you for the first time ever when I graduated high school, the only thing I can ever recall. Obviously I didn't even know how to respond to such an act so i just said... thanks... Just curious what the people think of this story... Let me know.
