    @@tlafleur8433 I understand what you mean but read what God calls us that accept his son. Just a few examples are, beloved, saints, holy, sanctified. It's only bad if we're self-righteous. Humility is good, but never downplay what God calls you, also never allow anyone to do it either. When my brothers and sisters in christ say things like I'm not worthy depending on the context I correct them. You are righteous for he who lives in you is righteous.

    No matter what R. C. Sproul always spoke the truth and the word of God. He’s right the church should not change for the world or for any generation. It is the house of the first born our Lord Jesus Christ. The other thing on a personal note. God through covid bought me to Sproul, and MacArthurer plus many others. To God always the be glory. Praise Him through all blessing flow Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

    A very truthful message by RC, for my brothers and sisters who are in this church listening to his message very moving and touching message by my dear late brother in Christ RC! Its a real shame that this worship time in this church is on the WRONG day of the week ! When our Lord and Saviour returns for His Saved church here on earth ! The Lord of Glory will take one week to the heavenly city of God, called the New Jerusalem, so that the Sunday keeping Christians can keep the true Sabbath of God, before they enter the Holy city of God in heaven, the New Jerusalem! Please look at Revelation 22:14; Only 10 Commandments keepers will ever enter there in through the gates in to the city of the New Jerusalem! And Sunday which is the FIRST day of the week is NOT in the 10 Commandments! So why or why are my brothers and sisters and even RC worshipping on Sunday, it is the wrong day to worship the True and Living God, God Almighty Never, Never blessed Sunday as a sacred day of worship! But he did the 7th day for sanctified worship and set it apart because it not only comes from the 4th of the 10 Commandments! But it comes from the creation of this world made by Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour; See Genesis 2:1-3; this is where God blessed this day ( not Sunday) but the seventh day which God calls it the Sabbath, when God rested from creating this world for Adam and Eve and for all future generations of humanity! Sunday, is the day that was changed by the Roman Catholic church, from the 4th century AD ! What a shame my dear brothers and sisters and even the late teacher RC are unaware of all this information is real mystery to me ?????

    I love RC Sproul`s sermons but I like to add my comment on the sacrifices of Cain and Abel. When I read the Bible, it says that ´Cain brought an offering to the Lord of the fruit of the ground`; the fruit in general, not the first fruits of the ground. Whereas Abel `brought of the firstlings of his flock`. --Cain`s sacrifice was casual offering of the fruit of the ground, not the offering of the first fruits of the ground in the reverential awe and worship of God. Whereas Abel`s offer was firstlings in reverence and worship of the Holy LORD God.

  • @lauraanderson7960

    @lauraanderson7960

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, this is my understanding as well. But I believe that is what, in a sense is what rc is saying. Cain was not in awe or respect of God and his blessings. He was just giving something with out caring if it was what God expected or how it was told to be done. Cain is like someone who goes to church on Christmas and Easter but has little desire to go other times. Just do what he thinks is do diligence. Able was wanting to give, wanting to follow the instruction of first - give God his best. You realize by giving the first you show you trust God. Cause what if you gave your first animals and the others die? Or if you give your first produce and then your plants die? Cain “an offering” showed he was depending on himself for survival. He had his first as a hedge - basically he was being his own God.

    The problem is singing inspired songs (Psalm) vs man inspired songs in corporate worship. What Dr Sproul missed in what the writers of the Heidelberg Catechism article 96 meant, was that we are not to assume what God accepts as worship. No where in scripture does God commands us to write songs outside inspired songs as the Psalm. The Reformers well understood this when the Heidelberg Catechism article 96 and Westminster Confession of Faith article 21 where written. There is a reason why the majority of puritans only sang The Psalm and not man written songs. If God Commands we do it, if God forbids it is forbidden, and if God is silent IT IS FORBIDDEN, we do not assume!!!

    The messiah's name was always going to be Jesus according to Zechariah Chapter 6... which is the same name as the post exile high priest ,Yeshua! if the concept of Messiah and God are separate then it doesn't automatically follow that sins can be forgiven.. only God can forgive sins. furthermore if the expectation of Messiah is to reverse the events of Genesis 3 Genesis 6 and Genesis 11 then by Definition messiah has to be more than just a man. Jesus being born of Mary but not of Joseph is not a problem according to Jewish history because I believe during the reign of Queen Alexandra Jewish law made Heritage pass on, by matrilineal Bases. A basis for the Trinity can be established in the Old Testament by passages like Amos 4:11Isaiah 48:16.. and Judges chapter 2:1 and Daniel 7:9-14 Support for the idea of God becoming man in Scripture are Deuteronomy 18 verses 15 to 18 Focus of the verse speaks of the coming Messiah coming from lineage of Israel like unto moses. We also have Exodus chapter 23 verse 20 and 21 the context of which is speaking about the future Endeavor of going over Jordan then we come to Joshua chapter 5 verses 13 to 15 and the context of this passage is having just gone over the Jordan into Israel. Another proof of this idea perhaps most glaringly Jeremiah chapter 1 verses 4-10... the first thing you want to pay attention to is titles in verse 4 and verse 9... Hashem and the word of the Lord these titles are used interchangeably there's some definite implication there but the point of emphasis here is verse 9 because it goes a little further than just anthropomorphic language. Now the next concern is did Jesus ever claim to be God? And for this the scriptures I would provide are Matthew 26:64 Jesus directly quotes Daniel 7:13 John 10:34 Jesus claims to be the judge in Psalm 82 referencing verse 6 In John 10 versus Both 11 and 14 Jesus Yeshua says that he is the Good Shepherd and you can cross-reference this with the very first line of Psalm 23. In Mark chapter 6 starting from verse 45 Jesus walks on the water this is something designated in the Old Testament for something only God (job 9:8) can do this separates Jesus from the other people who did miracles. Where another claim would be is in the fact that Jesus forgives sins, off the top of my head is Mark chapter 2 now certainly there have always been Messianic claimants but none of them have ever claimed to forgive sins. Now the question becomes why would Jesus so secretive why didn't he just come out and say that he was the Lord God of Israel?... well one scripture off the top of my head of that I would provide here that might be interesting is this Matthew 16:20 "then he commanded his disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ"... my suggestion to you here, would be that the crucifixion how to take place at a certain place at a certain time and under a specific set of circumstances. Please Look into all the scriptures I made mention here I hope this helps even one person Hashem bless everyone of you... in the name of Jesus both son and God of David king of Israel, amen!

    Its good to read the Present with Religion, a book for free on the internet.The book is about the truth of life and it shows the full picture of life for the flrst time so that you may stop being deceived by the world and be able to follow the steps of Jesus and other prophets to Heaven.Knowing the truth is thw key factor in our salvation.We must know the truth and live in it ans change ourselves according to it in order to be saved.There is no other way to our salvation.With the knowledge of the truth there comes true repentance which means changng our minds and also true obediance to God' s law and finally our sanctification which is a lifelong process.And God in His mercy will give us His wonderful grace which is the time and ability to make the proper change.Only in this way will we be able to attain our eternal salvation.Our task is to find this narrow gate that leads to God and do it quickly and stay on it till the end no matter what.Then and only then we will be saved.There is nothing more important or serious to do in this fallen world as our etwrnal fate depends on it.

    I may be the one person who is saddened by this sermon. Pulling Old Testament Scripture to justify forms of worship is manipulative at best. Look at the heart attitudes of the brother or sister who praises differently with different forms of worship. This was my first RC Sproul sermon and from Charles Spurgeon’s POV he failed miserably.

    Wash their clothes. Says nothing about what they wear. He shouldn't be taking scripture out of context for a man-made "doctrine"

    A god who requires worship is not worthy of worship. He would be just a celestial despot.

    @@norbertjendruschj9121To be fair, the bible does say that foolish people (talking about people who dont live with God in their life) sometimes live very well. The book of ecclesiastes is full of it. One passage that strikes me is this one, in Ecclesiastes 11:9 (if you can, read the whole book. Very interesting), which says: 'Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment'. The author has seen many things in his life, and has become an old man. Looking back on hia life, he sees all of it is like smoke in the wind, meaningless but full of appearances. In the end, he says, after you lived this life, you will meet the Judge. And everything you did will be tested. And His judgment is final; there is no appeal. Before you dismiss a notion like this one, think carefully about it; if you're wrong, you are toying with your eternity. Personally, I have no doubt that He exists. But thats because of the things He has done for me already. How I wish i could talk to you in real life, but for now this will do. God bless you.
