Watched all of your Sleep Token reactions. (subscribed) We were able to see ST live 2x in one year for the new album tour .Deeply satisfying experience for me. An excellent example of Vessel’s poetic power with words is “Higher” from 1st album, “Sundowning”. My first time hearing Vessel/Music this song grabbed me and I never let go. A request & suggestion. Thanks again.

Sleep token uses genres like instruments. They're a band for those of who can have The Weekend and Meshuggah on the same playlist lol

Great reaction man. I do the same thing with non metal listeners contextualize the screams and/or heavy parts with the story or emotion it’s intended to represent or evoke. Like you said man people just hear noise and don’t look any deeper.

You basically gave a backwards tutorial on how to love Linkin Park. Show them their last Album, let them get in love with Chesters Voice. The show them older Albums and slowly introduce them to Chesters Screaming haha.

I love watching people fall in love with Sleep Token. It's a blast. Just for the record, Vessel did a couple cover songs you definitely need to check out. Whitney Houston - I wanna dance with somebody and Outkast - Hey Ya! Yeah.... he did it, and he fuckin killed both of em.

@@HIM_066xMusicReactions He also did covers of When The Party's Over by Billie Eilish and Is It Really You? by Loathe, and they are also phenomenal. IIRY is many fans' favourite cover (some also argue it's better than the original).

This song is one of the very few that doesn't have some crazy change. And its still one their best.

Sleep Token = Open Minded music.

Hey I got you about Vessel sound similar to Montell Jordan there is a kind of resemblance in their way of harmonizing ,it also reminds me of Vessel's previous projects when he was younger where his voice had this kinda joyfull and more fluid sound that reminds me more of Montell

Vessel is the master at harmonizing with himself on those background vocals. It can be incredibly subtle but adds so much depth

He's also a master of putting a melody layer in at the beginning that comes back around in a bigger way later on. For example: the bass melody line at the beginning of Granite being the same riff played in the breakdown.

"R&BCore? I THINK THEY JUST INVENTED A SUBGENRE 🤯" Not really. There was a band way before them called Issues that was combining R&B and Metal. Issues went about it differently but still they were combing R&B and Metal way before Sleep Token. Do a reaction to the music video from Issues called "Drink About It" to see their version of R&B and Metal. 🙂 But this song "Aqua Regia" has no Metal in it at all. It's R&B with some Jazz elements. Sleep Token always lean Metal but they do dip in and out of other genres and also mix them with Metal every now and then.

Metal is my favorite genre and I don't really like harsh vocals. But I do like them *when* they add to the song, which... honestly, most of the time, they don't. The majority of bands that use harsh vocals just *always* use them regardless of context and never use clean singing, and that's what I don't like.

Sleep Token remind me so much of 90s SEAL, the way he used to mix R&B with rock and electric/ambient. Especially this song, it feels like it could have been on his 1998 album 'Human Being.'

This is the song that made me reevaluate what their music is about. The surface level of "boy meets girl, girl is the worst" is defintely there, but there is a lot drawn, at least in the imagery their music evokes, from Jung's ideas about shadow work and the Animus/Anima.
