    Did the tire come off the ground then land spinning? Most of the time that is why they break.

    I've been running an Aussie locker in the Dana 35 of my old YJ for years and it's held up to some pretty serious off roading. Experiance and common sense will tell you when it's time to use the winch and save the axles.

    iv had my front lokka in the nissan d22 navara for 18 months now. go 4wdriving on dirt and beach every month. give it hell and hasnt failed me yet. the front CV's have started to make some noise but its a 25yo car and the boots havent been there for the last 18months as well. add that with beach driving and they were going to give me problems. have just replaced the front drive shafts and changed front diff oil and oil was perfect

    That’s awesome to hear hopefully this dana 35 will last that long but our hopes aren’t very high! The dana 35 is notorious for being the weakest axle to come factory in a jeep haha

    You should have taken the money you spent on that locker and bought a junk yard ford explorer 8.8.That dana35 might last until you get it bound up in the rocks.Good luck.😁😁🤞🤞

    So i have a question on why not to use the oval shape shim. When had my jeep i always broke my dana 30 pins on the locker. Did it have something todo with the shim ?

  • @mountaincrawlers8

    @mountaincrawlers8

    9 ай бұрын

    The shim is meant for the spider gears not the locker. The locker requires a specific gap tolerance and reusing the shims probably wouldnt even fit the locker right and would make the tolerance too tight.

    I have run similar lockers in several rigs over 3 decades, love them in the snow, you will need 4wd, running 2wd in the snow and locked rear will make the tires break free, I do not like these in the front axle in the snow, that is sketchy, locked rear, open or limited slip front and 4wd in tge snow is fine, live in colorado so yes I drive snowy roads, just ordered a similar setup for my new rig
