How to Quilt As You Go and How to Attach the Squares to Each Other.
Yes, I know - I iron on the cutting board. Bad habit. The thing should have melted years ago - even I can't figure out why it's still in one piece. But DON'T DO IT!!
I notice that when I say “Excess” it sounds like “Access” - I'm going to start using “Extra”!

Awesome!!! The end technique of sewing the bias strip on top over the seam was great! Thanks for the up close details. I like the way you do it.
...great tutorial...can you make a Part 2 and show us how to continue on to make a lapsized quilt? How to join the rows..how to finish....etc...?
I love your short and to the point video! Just what I like
Your way looks easier than the type I have been fighting with for weeks my next quilt will be this way,I only have to fix the way I have now because mine are now trimed to size no wiggle room left
This is fantastic way of making it soooo much quicker and easier. Thank you!!!
FINALLY .... No hand sewing to attach your QAYG squares! Thank you so much. I've been looking for OVER a year for a technique like this. Thanks again . . .
That is a really cool and easy way to QAYG! Great idea of just using the Sashing in the front. Thanks
So easy !!!! Thank you what an easy way to bind the blocks!
Oh my God! I finally found a QAYG tuturial where it wasn't so darn complicated to join my quilted squares! I almost made a rag quilt but you just convinced me to use this method instead! Is there another video with the finished product? Just curious to see how it all came together. Also was it cumbersome to put the rows together on the machine? Thanks so much!
Like this method. Will give it a try.
Thank you. Love it.
yOU DID GREAT I LOVE IT.
Excellent. Thank you.
Woo! Thank you very much!
nice, I must give it a try!
Fun idea, BUT your cutting mat will warp from the heat of the iron. I won't even set a cup of coffee on my mat. Thanks for the great idea on the fun blocks.
awesome!!!
ahaaaaa you are a star. .. thank you do much
question. when you sew the 2 blocks together, do you sew the batting down, or just miss it with the seam?

You will warp your mat ironing on it.

Yes, I know. I did it for that video so I wouldn't have to move from the table to the ironing board. However, I've been ironing on that cutting mat for ages and it hasn't melted yet. It should have, but it hasn't.

That's not the best idea either when one is making a tutorial for others, especially beginners. A simple caption stating "do not iron on cutting mat" will prevent a lot of people who do not know. What may work for you does not always work for others when it shouldn't be done in the first place.

I ironed on mine by accident and it had to be thrown away! 😡
