The combination of tools you should use to quickly solve a heap memory leak are: GC logging; a GC log viewer; a histogram dumper; a histogram comparer; a heap dump technique; a heap dump analyzer; an object generation count profiler. In this talk I’ll show examples of all these tools in action against a heap memory leak to identify, solve and fix it. The tools and techniques are applicable to the majority of heap leaks.

Greeeat presentation. I must say that as a former Coder and a current CEO of a Sw (AI) company, these classes of problems are the most common and tricky to hunt, even for the wizards in the companion. Hope some of your techniques (and maybe other sources, like books, tutorials, anything, c could really help us hunting an old and annoying memory leak problems, usually very evident over 1G of Xmx,therefore not very often happening, but still terrible in those few occasions, Thanks again and please mention other sources (not free sources necessarily!).
