Great way to get the proper carbonation level. Great if you need to finish the beer for serving and short of time. I uses a cap on the saturation hose for prep and cleaning.

Got real problem .. I clean as recommended after every use and it's got black mold inside the pump. I sent a note to cs, and response was to disassemble the pump. Top one ok, but the unit is rivited down so i cannot get to the bottom one to remove it. What do I do.

What type/model of pump is that? Can I buy just the pump? It looks to be a self priming pump that would be useful for moving beer from the fermentor to kegs and maybe used to push beer thru a filter. Did not see it on Blichmann's website.

seems way more work than just hooking the co2 to the keg and shaking it to get co2 to dissolve.

Of course it is, that is not the point. Hooking up a keg and shaking it will fully carbonate a keg in 3-10 days. This does the same thing in 45-60 minutes. Once you have it set up, you can sequentially carbonate additional kegs with minimal effort.

Any thoughts about carbonating water with this pump?

can you make this work with sanke keg

The QuickCarb can work with a sanke keg. If you are using a larger 15 gallon keg it will take a little bit longer, but it will still work. It only comes with ball lock disconnects though. So you would need a set of ball lock to sanke adapters. Then it should work just fine. I'm traumatized in using this equipment again. The first time I used it, I had a very aromatic IPA and the aroma was gone during carbonation. Has that happened to you, too?

We have yet to hear about this happening. Did it seem to have flavor loss as well?

I noticed more the loss of aroma and a decrease in bitterness, but the taste is good.

co2 is great at stripping volatiles, but the only way you would actually lose it is if your keg is venting to the air whilst you are adding the co2 IMO. got a leaky keg blow off valve?

OK GOT MY QUICKCARB I LOVE IT DID 3 50L SANKEY KEGS IN 4 HOURS MY TEMP OF THERE BEER WAS 1C I SET THE CO2 PIS TO 20 LB RAN IT FOR ABOUT 1HR 20MIN WHEN THE BUBLES STARTED TO STOP ON THE GOING IN LINE AND I WOULD SEE BUBBLES N THE RETURN LINE IT WAS DONE WOULD BUY IT AGAIN

Way too much hassle. 2 days in the keezer does the trick for me.
