I'm excited to see everyone return but I think I may be the most excited to see what shilese has on the table. She has so much potential and her gymnastics is great to watch. I really think she has a good chance to make the team at olympics (⁠◍⁠•⁠ᴗ⁠•⁠◍⁠)

If she stays healthy I don’t see why she wouldn’t be on the team esp considering how well she performed at worlds last year when everyone was saying she would crack under the pressure. I want her on that team sooo bad!!! 😭😭😩😩

@@ghostt4634 a lot will depend on how international judges would receive her routines I think. With not many gymnasts performing the skills she’s training, it’s a bit of an unknown.

There isn't a chance we'll see Listunova in Paris, since every 2021 team member exept for Akhaimova has attended a pro war rally and I think that collides with the FIG's rule of only allowing athletes who haven't said anything pro war

I’ll wait until the FIG publishes the Ad Hoc Rules to put more definitive information out there. I think they should be very clear about who is and who’s not allowed to compete, like create a ‘banned list’

I hope Shilese drops out from Classics just for better pacing for nationals, not because of injury. I root for her to submit a new skill.

This excites and saddens me, I selfishly wanted to see her compete next weekend, it’s a marathon to Paris. She has to do what’s best for her end goal.

@@heatherwicker9990 her ankle looked heavily taped in some of her recent training videos, no need to risk it at classics and stay healthy for nationals and worlds

Shilese has seemingly worked to fix many of the issues that made me critical of her last year. She's looking wonderful in her training videos. I fear Suni's style of bar routine construction will make her at a disadvantage compared to the best in the world. She doesn't do stalder, free hip, or inbar skills or Ling, Healy skills so it limits the skills in her routines. That difficult release in the video is an E as is the Seitz, but a Healy+Ling would be E+E+CV and much less physically demanding. So, it's hard for her to construct a World class routine with these limitations. There are only so many toe-on skills she can do.

I hope Suni Lee can stay in the gym and it won’t affect her Paris 2024 goal! Also Shi Jones could be the next Suni Lee on bars! Also it’s exciting how Russia and Belarus can compete neutrally from next year.

I wish they would extend the ban- the Russian and Belarussian athletes aren't bringing anything near exciting enough to the table to justify the disrespect it shows Ukrainian athletes by allowing them to compete. I feel bad for the individual athletes, but Russia has made all of them representatives of the state with their weird war-time sport politics, and we have to hold steady and continue to penalize Russia for it's invasion. I can't imagine the frustration and distraction it brings to Ukrainian athletes to compete alongside athletes who are advocating for the destruction of their homelands. It's inappropriate and goes against the spirit of the Olympics.

​@michaelk2133 the good news is they have to apply to compete. Alot of the Russian girls have been in full support of the war so I am not sure they will even be allowed. I completely agree with ur statement tho! I also think that there hasn't been any indication they will allow them to compete at the Olympics, it's more of a "we will see how it goes". They aren't allowed in any team events either.

I LOVE the originality and focus on execution from the Americans. I think Biles did a disservice to the team only so far as they all tried to keep pace with her difficulty and style, but not many people can do what she does even a little. So this focus on individual strengths is really leading to the some exciting gymnastics! 😊

Shilese Jones is Not the Only Gymnast that is having injuries. Sunisa Lee dropped out of Collegiate Gymnastic at Auburn University. Due to her Kidney problems. So, therefore, Sunisa Lee may be declared Ineligible by the U.S. Olympic Federation strict Stipulations put on these Athletes to make it to the Olympics

It's wrong. Those Russian athletes should not be allowed to compete. Sending the wrong message. If they want to compete the should renounce their Russian citizenship.

It’s about time the Russian athletes are ‘allowed’ back in comps. After all, no one’s invaded more countries illegally or occupy them more than the US and their athletes have never been banned for the Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and 70+ other illegal bombings and invasions.

Pretty sure they were “banned” because they supported the invasion and were vocal about it. Our athletes haven’t been vocal about supporting war. FIG rules. Not mine!
