@@nicolebrown5987how do you know if she didn’t get offered those deals? Maybe she didn’t want them. She is the first AA Olympic champ who would stay elite and compete in college and accept money for endorsements. I think she is doing great. We don’t know everything that goes on in their private lives for a reason. It’s okay to be angry and I get it. Suni is very much loved. If she didn’t get deals then it would be her management team if she had one. She’s going to be our sleeper competitor….she won’t do everything until she is ready to strike. It’s a good strategy. ❤

@nicolebrown5987 That's not robbery; Suni is one of the most decorated gymnasts in NCAA. She couldn't take sponsorship deals at that time, or it would have disqualified her from participating in college gymnastics. Taking endorsements and brand deals is considered payment, and she would be considered a *professional* athlete and not allowed to compete in NCAA. Also, I consider myself a Gabby Douglas fan-- what do you mean that's how we feel? Gabby GOT all those deals you mentioned! She got a book, a movie, brand deals with Nike... 😭 It doesn't make sense to say Suni got robbed of that stuff and say Gabby Douglas fans know how it feels when Gabby got *ALL* of that.

@@blakegillpuente3904 SCOTUS overruled that and now athletes can get paid in collegiate sports. Secondly, I wasn't insulting her. She deserved the same praise and adoration that Gabby got as being the Asian American woman to win gold in the AA. Gabby has been disrespected since day 1. All I'm saying is that she deserved better treatment as the first than she got.

So, it's always nice when we have athletes like Shilese (and a few others like Simone, Laurie Hernandez, and Suni) who show our girls can absolutely do both!

These are all great! I'm especially excited for Alexa Moreno's upgrades, since Latin America isn't really known for strong, competitive gymnasts outside of Brazil. It's exciting that Mexico could potentially medal at an Olympic Games after Moreno was already the first Mexican to win a World's medal for vault! She was also 4th at the most recent Games. Shilese's beam series is GORGEOUS! I always wondered why if we see so many aerial + LOSO combos, and so many bhs + LOSOx2 combos, why we don't see more aerial + LOSO×2 on beam. I'm excited to see whether Gabby trains All Around or if she shoots for a UB/BB specialist spot. Honestly, neither her VT nor FX were competitive in 2016, so unless she can get back some skills or do some upgrades, idk that she'll stand out competing AA next to Simone Biles, Sunisa Lee, Shilese Jones, or Rebecca Andrade. It would be nearly impossible to make the podium in AA with a DTY on VT and a FX with a Double Arabian + Stag Jump as the highest-rated tumbling pass. But, we will see! I'm rooting for her, and she looks great on Bars already!

*1.* Unfortunately, we won’t see all the upgrades Shi is training. I highly doubt it. The ones would help her the most are: new acro series on beam if consistent ( like the aerial loso loso), double front with half turn ub dismount, front full layout step out and the chuso. She can also potentially do: full in dismount on both beam and floor, the stalder nabieva, a bhardwaj and an amanar. But those ones (except the unofficial Jones) are not as realistic. *2.* Rebeca is planning on upgrading her beam and is training a new dance element on fx. She’s working on a bhs loso loso and another connection. Will she manage to do consistently? We’ll see but I believe adding another loso might increase her chances of falling considerably. *3.* Like Rebeca, Jade is also training her amanar again and trying to compete it this year. After all, with Simone they really have to fight for the silver, being the gold only very possible if Simone has a mistake. *4.* I’d love to see Moreno do a Yeo. It’d be huuuge, but I’m afraid she may not land it well if competed. *5.* Douglas is also training her fabulous shishova again. I literally CANNOT wait to see her back on the floor.

I appreciate many things about your videos, but let me list just a few: 1. you comment on the fact gymnasts' routines being beautiful without making it super fucking creepy. i say this as a guy - apparently it's real hard for some guys to talk about women like they're people and then they get super creepy. so i appreciate that. 2. you do your best to pronounce peoples names correctly. I speak zero (0) other languages so i cant comment on how close you get to perfection, but what matters is that you're honoring their heritage and affording them dignity by trying. 3. I'm sure you have your personal favorites but you always come across like you just want everyone to stay healthy and do well. 4. also, i still remember the video you did discussing how the sanctions against Russia for invading Ukraine impact the Russian gymnasts, and I still appreciate you calling it an invasion or war. so many people are scared of that reality for some reason, but I appreciate that you didn't flinch from it.

I am curious about gabby’s path. She was relying on the UB spot in both 2015 and 2016, that’s the only reason she was picked over maggie and laurie to do AA. Now we have shilese on the ub + aa spot, which is her direct competition.

Maggie was never Gabby’s competition. Stop that Athlete A bullcrap narrative. Maggie didn’t have a chance be on the team after her injury unless she recovered her Amanar and ungraded her bars and beam. None of that materialized. So Gabby was clearly the better option.

Only difference is on Floor; which shilese is better (double double and dlo, gabby had none). She might really be doing this just because she missed gymnastics and is enjoying challenging herself. Even if she doesn't have a realistic chance to make the olympic team again, I, and I hope other fans, are totally OK with her and any other returning athletes just enjoying the process to see where it will take them. Ultimately, she and the others are pushing every athlete in the mix to be their best, so it's beneficial to the whole and especially to those who train at her gym that she's there modeling all the qualities of more experienced artistry to the younger athletes.
