VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
In this quick tip video I share 3 simple tips that can help you learn anatomy and figure drawing much more quickly and efficiently than just studying anatomy book from start to finish. As artists you study anatomy a bit different than the typical science student. Your main goal has to do with the convincing portrayal of the human form not just to memorize facts.

A good way to learn anatomy is to draw muscles over naked people also draw the skeleton hidden inside the skin

Yooo that sounds cool ! Would love to draw on people
Those manikin sketches are great. They underline the concept of "forms in space", which is necessary to understand how the figure moves in an environment. You also succeed in not making them look like puppets on strings. Well done, sir.

I found these tips on learning the necessary parts of anatomy very helpful. You give clear instructions and you know where we aspiring artists need to focus our attention. Before I discovered your videos I was artistically stumbling around in the dark. Then I took quite a bit of time off to care for my father before he passed. But when I could draw again, there you were with more wonderful videos and two books! You are inspiration itself, giving us permission to fail and encouragement to get right back on the horse. Practice is, indeed, helping me. Thank you!
Good tips on anatomy are precisely what I have been looking for. This video literally came up at the exact correct time I needed it. More of them and/or gesture tips, would be great, thank you!
Oh yes! I was just trying to find some anatomy videos and this popped up on my feed! Straight from the universe! I love your videos 🙏🏽❤️

Your instruction on anatomy is the best ever.
I bought the work book and I’m really benefiting from the exercises. I think spiral style would be very beneficial, maybe even perforated pages so we can just remove them? Very happy with the paper quality too. I thought the bleeding would be really bad on the exercise pages but the paper handles it very well.
Thank you Alphonso! Every video of yours has more info than a traditional class. Thank you for making art more and more accessible for everyone.
PLZ write a book on figure drawing!!!! best teacher on youtube!!
Thank you for your quality tips and the fabulous books. Drawing under your instructions has given me a better approach to drawing. Thanks for all you do🙏🏽

gracias por los tips.
Thanks for a new vid Alfonso. I just got a fountain pen and noticed it pops more and than a regular or even my Micro pens not to mention it is much more fun to use. I also ordered a dip fountain pen as well with different sized nibs to play with. I see you don't use them much but wanted to know if you like to use them and also if there is any number system to tell which nib is which. Lastly if you could recommend a brand of pen and ink that you find works best for this kind of work. Most of them focus on calligraphy. Thanks again for being here and I hope you can find the time to answer. Take care. I also love you book and workbook.
Awesome tips. Can you please share more tips on Anatomy as well as drawing the figure. Thank you as always Alphonso.

Recently I got really frustrated trying to learn anatomy, just doing too much at once. These tips are so helpful, thank you!
What a perfect time for this video I've been trying to learn anatomy or at least a little more then I already know so I can make more dynamic poses
thanks
Been missing you for long.
Please more anatomy videos. I always have issues with how to map the ear, top of the head and the back of the head. How do those measure out?
I already have your workbook, but if you bring out a spiral spine I'll definitely get it too 😅
Could you tell us how and why you expose so much lead in your pencils? Thanks for your excellent instructional videos! I have purchased your book (for Kindle) and am going to order your workbook and dive in to inking the exercises. Practice, practice, practice!!!
Please keep going :) I'm a wannabe comicbook artist and have been eyeing anatomy, without really knowing where to start. But you're right, it's just simplified forms & Landmarks that seem a bit tideous, but muscles leading into gestures sounds like fun! [ps: your book's brilliant, something that can't be snitched]

Great tutorial! Another thing I've been wondering is, do you have any personal tips on dealing with hand cramps and grip problems. I realize sometimes my grip gets loose and sometimes my hand cramps up too much even if I'm not gripping a pen that hard.
More videos on anatomy please
Keep up bro 💪🙏💯🙌👏👌🏽
Thats cool...!
Yes! More anatomy lessons would be great! You made a similar video before explaining how to draw the mannequin and it helped me a lot, specially to draw manga. Keep it up!
Great vídeo! Do you recommend any anatomy book?
