It reminds me of the way how Osamu Tezuka draw his characters - first hands floating in the air, next arms which connected palms with the rest of the body.

COPIC Fineliners and MultiLiners and 210 gsm drawing cartridge are what I use, but use whatever you can get and afford easily. That will be best.
