Quick Struts Monroe roadmatic review and overview

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I replaced the suspension on my 2016 mountaineer after 13 years with Monroe Roadmatic quick struts. The process is easier and cheaper than buying 16+ separate parts

*It's called indexing. I would imagine an assembly line wouldn't index all the springs perfectly to OEM spec.*

Quick struts are very good struts to use and a next thing the new spring will ride a bit different for awhile cause it's new ,it has to get time to work in,can't compare the new with the original that come with the vehicle with the new that just replaced

Don’t forget to do another tightening sequence after vehicle is lowered and load of entire vehicle is set. Might want to check for a few days too and see if it may need more tightening. Monroe, Rancho, Bilstein are probably some of the top names for QSA.....especially SUV’s.

@@mustangpaul05 I got the Monroe quick struts not the roadmatics but my car hits bumps hard and I put new struts on it but it was duralast quick struts and I think the duralast struts are junk and I have rebuilt pretty much my whole front end I don't care about body roll or any of that I just want to minimize feeling bumps in the cabin of my car as much as possible will these Monroe's help out or? Also my tires are 235 50 r18 Yokohamas at 40 psi of air will this affect anything?

A firmer shock is gud for better tire contact and less body roll...well worth the firmer ride.

install sway bars or, if already equipped, upgraded (thicc) sway bars for improved contact patch and less body roll. The spring rate should not be changed.

I have a 06 Sentra and I am looking into KYB but they don't make rear strusts for them. Is it an issue if I get KYB for front and Monroe in the rear? How are these monroes treating you?

I wouldn't think so. The specs should be the same to fit the vehicle. And I'm thinking of getting KYB myself and taking back the monroe's. I got struts from IAauto and they are the same design as the monroe roadmatics. Made in China. Lasted just over 2 months. They ride the same as the monroes do. Not comfortable with that. Had KYB on my 03 focus hatch and I could take corners like a dream. Very responsive, there when you need them. Ran over a curb head on at about 26 on ice, no issues. Lol and they are cheaper for me on Rock Auto. 133 instead of 160 for the monroe.

All the fiddling over spring diameter is a waste of time. Engineers at Monroe figured the springs to use for your vehicle. Just buy the correct parts and install as directed.

Monroe isn’t really a cheap brand, if that’s what you meant. For normal sedan city and highway driving, I’d say Monroe is midrange stuff. It cost me $196 for one strut for a Chevy Aveo 2011.

@@rickymac54321KYB aren't "better". As a mechanic, I can tell you tgeir failure rate is much higher than Monroe. KYB is a Japanese company that diversifies its company and products. So their engineering is spread out. It isn't concentrated. Monroe was started and stays American. It was founded by a mechanic in the 1920s. Monroe's engineers are static and only work on one field. As a mechanic of 35 years, I stand by my experience The only reason KYB is factory for some vehicles is because is it cheaper for Honda, Toyota and Nissan to get American or European suspension? Or suspension from their own company? KYB is always less costly for any vehicle, but they are great parts. But Monroe is always built stronger and will always last longer.
