The Gunvein tutorial really helped me with learning to herd aimed shots. I never really thought about using slow speed to cluster aim shots together, then move faster to create a gap in the aim shots, creating my own macro dodge area.

It's a legendary tutorial!!! One of the best in the business. Boghog knows and thinks about this stuff critically and we talk alot about it, so the fact that he put it in the game was so exciting to me.

Haha dude, I was about to drop my dodge theory and shot type vid this morning but needed to adjust something. Talk about synchronization. Anyway, great quick-start guide man!

Hey uncle :) thanks for that - I really need to get back on the horse and and do more quick start guides. I have a pretty short attention span myself so I guess it's my selfish way of trying to distill things down to their core elements 🤔😈

Simple and clear, I love it! + great Cho Ren Sha gameplay👍

I finally managed to do another 1cc!! I finished Sora on easy mode but I failed to reach 1M score. All I ever did is try to stay invincible. Darn, I still want to experiment more on the games weapons. I feel like I still haven't dug much on that game after 51.9 hrs of total playtime. What next for me is probably Suguri, Hellsinker or maybe Blue Revolver without auto-bomb.

Straight to be point, BS-free advices.

I just realized that I have applied all of this. My one last problem on why I mostly fail is that I usually tend to overdo greedy stuff like forcing myself to charge hypers and catching power ups way too hard.

Good video for the new STGers 👌 But there are so many strats to play this genre. I play very aggressive with shmups and try and kill fast playing middle or at the top. Less enemies less bullets on screen. Cave games play with a Dpad is my advice to new guys lll

Real talk, in Cho Ren Sha, pointblanking is essential to many of the enemies to keep threat levels low, you'd love this game if you haven't already played it. It exudes Shmup fundamentals and the bullets are neither super slow nor ultra fast. It's a perfect middle ground.

Play with a d-pad... idek if it's easier but it feels like murder on the hands

Yeah nice tips for beginners, I do 1cc videos on my channel like you and I agree everything, it's not easy to do a guide list for shmups because every game is different so most of the tips cannot be used every time

Agree! I think that's a big reason why the genre is so interesting, these transferrable skills but the games are still so difficult!
